Because most people arent like you.

If the average consumer walks up to the PS4 / 720 wall in a store and see 95% the same library they already have on their current console why would they feel the need to drop $500 on a console with the same games

The "core" market will upgrade for better graphics and features but the core are a very small minority of the marketshare

Ill be upgrading.

And by no means am I predicting doom on next gen as I think the consoles will sell great. I do however think the rediculously strong support for current gen could slow first year sales of the new consoles outside of the "core" who buy during launch month


I think you made my point.  Early adopters, like me and you... are early adopters.  The continung library means next to nothing.

Not really. Early adoptors only carry a console for a few months. What about the 9 months after it launches?

Naw, the demand for new consoles is gonna be insane. I expect both the 720 and PS4 to do big numbers, just because this gen has gone on so long. MS (If the rumors don't become a reality) and SONY will be pleasantly surprised at the amount of early adopters there will be.
