Because most people arent like you.

If the average consumer walks up to the PS4 / 720 wall in a store and see 95% the same library they already have on their current console why would they feel the need to drop $500 on a console with the same games

The "core" market will upgrade for better graphics and features but the core are a very small minority of the marketshare

Yes, the Holiday lineup will definitely hurt next gen consoles sales. PS4 and Nextbox more than Wii U (provided Nintendo does have something planned for the Holidays)

COD and GTA 5 will be on next gen consoles at launch. If this truly is the case, there is nothing to worry about.



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Of course it will hurt next-gen sales. It will likely be 2-3 years before the 720 and ps4 take off.

Bros........bros. "Teh Graphicz" of GTa and Cod on next gen consoles will ensure both gens will sell great.

Not everyone has wads of cash and the world is in a dire state so yes, the next gen consoles will get off to a slow start imo, aside from the most dedicated of the 'hardcore' picking one up asap, the more common consumer will wait a year or 2 (or 3) esp since there's less motivation to rush out and buy one. 3rd parties probably think so too otherwise they wouldn't be covering their asses (from memory, they haven't released the same games on both old and new gen platforms in the past have they? at least not to the same extent as they appear to be doing it this time around anyways. )I will no doubt buy a ps4 but I'm not gonna rush and buy it day one on the strength of just an infamous and killzone game thats for sure! I can wait a bit longer for the next gen I'm still more excited for the games coming to the current platforms.

The vast majority of consumers are not willing to pay $400-$500 for a new console in order to play a game with slightly better graphics.
