The PS3 sold about 4.7m in Europe last year.  Assuming it stays in the market till 2017-18 could this happen?  Remember PS3 still has some price cuts to go which it didn't get last year.  Speculate please.

Hard to say. I don't think so. But it will be close.

Yes. PS3 will come very close to Wii this year and overtake it next year, the year after, 2015 or so PS3 will pass PS1.

Do sales really matter? Nintendo racked in heaps of cash from the Wii's entire existence, Sony didnt make anywhere near what Nintendo did. (If Sony even made a profit for PS3, didnt think PS2 or PS1 were Profitable either)
Its the ones laughing to the Bank not Crying that matter most for buisness.

Yes I think so, the lack of ps4 compatibility means that ps3 will remain relevant till 2015. Then it will start to crawl... It will last to around 2017.

i think it will happen sooner, i think as soon as the ps4 is released the ps3 will drop in price so much, people will want to pick up a spare one, replace broken ones

ltd ps3 will go over 90mil+,the bulk of those sales will be from eu. it hasnt even hit the 199 sweet spot yet.
