God of War: Ascension - Will be hugely undertracked (even more so than God of War III was/is). It will be the biggest video game release in the US of March.

Vgchartz estimates = 550,000.

My prediction = 700,000 in March. (500,000 Week 1, 120,000 Week 2 and 80,000 week 3.

My prediction is similar.

(600k 1st week, 200k Week 2(God of War bundle must have stopped it from getting less than 150k), 85k Week 3)

Yeah, I think God of War: Ascension is definitely going to be undertracked in the US... and by a lot. GoW3 was undertracked by over 200K during its debut month in the US if I remember correctly (and it still hasn't been corrected). It was actually more than that because Vghartz estimates are for the entire USA and NPD data is for the US alone. I should say, my prediction above is the lowest I expect it to be. I think it sold between 700,000-850,000 in the US alone in March. So not too far behind God of War III which managed 1.1 million (NPD). God of War: Ascension will do: Week 1 ) 500-600k. Week 2 ) 120-150k. Week 3 ) 80-100k. My final prediction: Lowest: 700,000. Highest: 850,000. Mean: 775,000 (my bet). I actually can't wait to see if I'm closer to NPD's data than Vgchartz is.

Its possible, in line with VGC undertarcking all God of War games everywhere in the world...however its not necessary.

God of War Acsenion was bundeled with every God of War game for 59.99 and it was number one in gamestop for a couple weeks. And still it dropped 80% in its second week? I really doubt that.

Not exactly a bundle. More like a buy this game get this other game....

The point is still the same...the whole God of War series for $60 and it was number one on gamestop but still dropped like crazy? That's funny.

God of War is not undertracked. The game had bad Internet media and little to no marketing.

It did awful in Japan and Europe. I expect more of the same in the US.

It's because March 2013 NPD is five weeks (ending April 6th). It's usually the second thursday after the ending of the tracking period.

That makes sense then. Thanks... I was looking all over for the thread and was wondering where the heck it was.

Little? This game had a lot of marketing and was even advertised during the Super Bowl.
