Microsoft seeking Glacier Blast trademark

Xbox maker's mark to be used for game software; company also snaps up GlacierBlastGame.com domain.

It appears Microsoft is preparing a new game called Glacier Blast. The company this week filed an application with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) for the name, covering "game software."

Microsoft also picked up a related domain name--www.GlacierBlastGame.com--at the end of March. The website currently redirects to a Bing search.

A Microsoft representative was not immediately available to comment.

Microsoft also recently filed a trademark application for game software called Marlow Briggs, though the company has not made any official announcements.

sounds like some arcade game for kinect or maybe tablet/phone game.

Oh snap. You guys know what this means, right?

A new Halo.

Why? Because Glacier Blast will probably be the cross-over Mountain Dew/Doritos flavor "inspired" by a Halo set on a frozen planet.

You know I'm probably right.

And don't forget the Glacier Blast Doritos mini-games on Live.

Sounds like a XBLA title to me.

Microsoft opened a new studio in my city of Victoria over a year ago. It is working on a next gen title. But they have been tight lipped on the title or what the game is about.

If it's a game it's too cheesy of a title to be anything but a Win8 Tab/Phone game.

Unless it's the subtitle of the next Killer Instinct starring Glacius. Then it's cheesy on purpose.

This made me laugh so hard. 

Ugh, the KI fan inside of me saw this title as Glacius Blast. :(
