Hack n Slash is dying atleast. Just take a look at DMC, MGRR and GOWA and you'll get my point.

BTW I would like to think that GOW III has crossed 6 million units, since it reached 5.2 million units by May 31, 2012.

Metal Gear Rising has cracked a million units sold. DMC didn't sold because of marketing and poor Capcom's choices. I wouldn't say hack n' slash is doing bad these days; look at Samurai Warrior: keep pumping games out, because they sell.


MGRR has cracked a million on two platforms, which isn't a lot, especially compared to some other releases in 2013. I don't know anything about SW though.

Gears doesn't deserve it.

I think it does. But regardless it sold more. With victory comes the spoils. It is done.

Many fans believe God of War will have longer legs. It may take it back, but itll be down the road.

What matters is that the God of War franchise has sold more than Gears of War franchise. So you see, that's victory for God of War right there :P.

Ya don't worry I won't.  I can easily ignore anybody if I want.  But, like I said, I'm still calling God of War=GoW and Gears of War=Gears.

Ok the next person to mention a right to an acronym I will report. I don't feel like dealing with immature arguments todays.

People usually refer to it as Gears rather than GoW. People don't call God of War Gods so they shorten it to GoW. Either way the argument is pointless as really arguing over an acronym is pointless.

@Ucell Ive mentioned this a few times in the last few days. Shipped is not retailers sold.  Metal Gear Rising has also sold 1.07m so far so it is doing fine. 

@everybody else. Continue on with your conversations. I will continue to update this througout the year.
