its no insult, and my reply is not directed to you personally, but to the post itself. the reasons your post is childish are many, your intentions are clear with that post. you couldnt even tell me one good reason as how your posts add anything significant to the thread or to the site if you wanted to, you posted to start unnecessary arguments, its that simple

Claiming acronym rights to a mega franchise is seemingly more significant then saying "oooh" and "ahh" to weekly sales trends. But I digress.


the mere assumption that you dicede who gets the "acronym" rights to a franchise is nothing short if immature and ludicrous. the fact that you think you have a right to so call tell people what to say based on a game sales, that you have nothing to do with other than buying a single copy,  is in fact one of the most illogical things i ever heard. the franchise does not belong to you, it has nothing to do with you. you just bought a single copy. you have nothing to claim or say when it comes to who gets the "acronym rights". thats up to epic and SSM, but guess what? they dont give a crap because they did nothing about it, why? because as i said, its immature and illogical to do so. so give it a rest

Welcome to the internet :). Just making a call based on the votes of the gamers on both sides AKA their wallets. Makes no sense if anything to give the acronym to a franchise that sells less. This is all for fun anyway and very trivial (I hope you see that), but then again you are seemingly outraged by this when in all honesty you should just play it off.

but its not your call to make and its not a call of either "side" to make. its funny when you say it makes no sense to do something when your whole logic on the matter makes no sense what so ever. and just because i am making perfect sense does not in any way make me outraged. nice try and making me look like the one who isnt making sense and is trying to start trouble, to bad it didnt work

GOWA didn't sell that well because the hack n slash genre itself is niche compared to the OTS genre.

Wow, so were supposed to give the GOW acronym to a game that at this point has only sold like 60,000 more copies. Big woop. If it was over a million copies, then it could be a little justified, but it still couldn't because really God of War came out before Gears so shouldn't it be the given the acronym.

In any case I'm still calling God of War=GoW. And Gears or War=Gears. :-p

I'm a gears of war fan but I hope god of war ascension beats judgement (it doesn't deserve the gears of war prefix).

Judgement is a joke and I hope it fails miserably so epic can start making real gears games again.

Just saying your serious response to such a trivial thing only makes you look sensitive. So I say Gears earned GOW. lol just let it go.

Hack n Slash is dying atleast. Just take a look at DMC, MGRR and GOWA and you'll get my point.

BTW I would like to think that GOW III has crossed 6 million units, since it reached 5.2 million units by May 31, 2012.

Metal Gear Rising has cracked a million units sold. DMC didn't sold because of marketing and poor Capcom's choices. I wouldn't say hack n' slash is doing bad these days; look at Samurai Warrior: keep pumping games out, because they sell.
