Still, you should pay to have the thermal compound replaced & your dust bunnies removed. If you can't afford it, look into doing it yourself.

A few words of warning though. The PS3's YLOD is something that can't be fixed if the solder joints are already messed up by excess heat, it's best to call it quits then. No one can tell how far gone a PS3 is until it won't turn on again.

Well im still not sure if its a thermal compound problem. Since certain games can work on it or not but I will replace it and clear the dust after I save my backup and update my trophies and thanks.

same happens here when I want to play w@w online. offline it's fine. but online it turns off immediatly when I press MP -.-'

W@W was one of my favorite MP games. I just wanted some nostalgia :(

I had a problem with my PS3 slim power supply.. suddenly I couldn't play games and it would shut itself down instantly.. it depended on the game how long it would function.. I fixed it by tuning the over current protection screw.. don't know if this is on a PS3 fat..

you probably need to replace the thermal compound - I had similar issues with my launch PS3 after some years, but since I replaced it with arctic cooling MX2 thermal compound it works fine
