AH right... im a big fan of game of thrones, but the first episode of season 3 didnt get me very excited at all.

I understand it needs to set up the scenarios after what happened last season, but i thought the episode was a bit lukewarm. Hopefully gets better soon.

Spartacus ain't over yet! I'm liking the 3rd season so far

I think they rushed it a bit, would've like to have seen about 13 episodes. Its good, but not as good as the previous seasons imo. Season 1 was my faviourite and imo not even Game of Thrones has been as good as season 1 of Spartacus.

I think we've been conditioned by television over the years to expect episodes as self contained, rather than part of a whole.

I would put it this way, imagine each episode is few chapters of a book.  Some are set up, others are pay off.  Could not have constant climax without the work being done.  Ideally one should watch the show a whole season at once on DVD or Blu Ray in my opinion.

Ever since the mess up that was Crows and Dragons release dates he never states a deadline.  He has said it will be the biggest entry possibly being 1,500 pages in length as so much needs to happen before the final volume.  He has written several hundred pages confirmed and has leaked a chapter here and there to appease the rabid fanbase.  I would say 2015 is reasonable.

2013 - Season 3 (Book 3, Part 1)

2014 - Season 4 (Book 3, Part 2)

2015 - Season 5 (Book 4/5, Part 1) Book 6 released

2016 - Season 6 (Book 4/5, Part 2)

2017 - Season 7 (Book 4/5, Part 3)

2018 - Season 8 (Book 4/5, Part 4)

2019 - Season 9 (Book 6, Part 1)

2020 - Season 10 (Book 6, Part 2)

2021 - Season 11 (Book 6, Part 3 / Book 7, Part 1) Book 7 released just in time! (I hope)

2022 - Season 12 (Book 7, Part 2)

2023 - Season 13 (Book 7, Part 3)

I actually enjoyed the episode. I heard it was record breaking too. I really want to see what changes they'll make since they said they'll continue to deviate from the book.


Spartacus ... I have not watched the latest season because of school, but I intend to catch up. How is it so far?

I've noticed you tend to either love something 100% or hate something 100%. There's no middle ground

Yeah in most cases. I am a very emotional person and when I like something I really love it when I don´t I really don´t

But my problem with Spartacus is I really loved the first season because it was something unique. I didn´t give a fuck about the bad character writing. I wanted to see Gladiator fights. But now they overdid it I mean the character are just bad, except of Crassuss and Spartacus maybe. I mean just look at the son of Crassuss this might the worst written character I have ever seen. I mean laugh my ass off when he tries to be meanacing, and when he isn´t funny he is just annoying. But this is the wrong Thread to discuss this
