I have this feeling of dread that it is going to be rats feeding on themselves if the Wii U remains sluggish, and the PS4 and next Microsoft consoles also don't do well saleswise.  It is going to be trumpeting any mediocre success, and ripping to shreads everyone else who is a rival.  Pretty much the complains about Wii U talk will be amplified 20 fold.  But, maybe I am wrong.  Say we go through contraction this generation and sales aren't what they were expected.  Will this lead to increased unity as fans of videogames or do you see different sides being worse than now?

We'll have a North Korea situation between hands, you'll see. At least that would mean more jokes about videogaming in 9gag.

Nintendo would re-release the Super Nintendo and SEGA would re-release the Mega Drive, saving the gaming market from Doom(Saturn version).

Same old same old as in fanboys of said systems downplaying lack of success. Haters saying said system is doomed or that their games or company is irrelevant or it's going to get worse. Reasonable people expecting games to sell systems and 100m to not be sold in the first year.

You answered your own question. That, right there, is without a doubt what would happen. I have a feeling that the ms and Nintendo fans would have to come together against the sheer numbers of the more vocal Sony following.

I'm just saying they have more vocal guys compared to the other 2. Nintendo have similar numbers but a lot of them tend to just be passive on these forums and ms... Well, tumbleweed and a small posse like the wild west.
