Obviously you can scratch the EA games, but they will run on Frostbite so those will most likely not arrive on WiiU either.

UE3 and now UE4 are cheap and that's why developers use it. I think licensing UE3 for a game costed about $1m. Hilariously cheap compared to creating your own engine from the ground up.

As long as there is MS AND Sony in the console business, Nintendo is simply not going to give a shit about 3rd party games, the business is just not dependable (see gamecube aka 3rd wheel). So Nintendo will passively allow 3rd parties to make unique versions for ninty if they choose, if not, oh well. This is why I root for one of MS or Sony to leave the console business (Sony leaving is more realistic, + i have to be pro American), so that we can get an all out competitive console from ninty.

As somewhat of a compensation, what we'll see from the big N is more of their own multiplats, ie 3DS/Wii U version of games.

Cliffy B wasn't fired he resigned cause he need it a break and UE4 is important because its the leading engine most third parties will use unless you got the money to make one yourself like the big players Square, Capcom, Konami, EA.

This is a big blow to the WiiU.

SometimesvI wish I can have an interview with Iwata, curious what's his plan are to take on the next gen consoles. He's always so calm and never seem to worry even though there's clearly a huge problem here.
