Yay first retail game that is undoubtedly better on WiiU in both performance and graphics.

TBH, I'm not sure it really matters, I paid full price on eShop to support Criterion for their efforts but it's not like consoles can compete with PCs anyways lol..... All the people whoring about console graphics should just save some money and get a new PC in a year or 2 if they really care about graphics "THAT" much.

Seriously, this kind of argument always going back to PC graphics (out of no where like you do all the time) should be bannable... It got old during last gen, if not before that.

It's only a problem if the people typing things like these are not actually PC gamers and are just trolling to down play or spite on another platform. I actually have this game on Wii U, I have a youtube video I linked in one of the discussions when some people were arguing that the Wii U version is inferior while it's clearly not. This is a honest and true opinion coming from me, so you can either take it for what it is, or complain and get no results since I'm not trolling in any way at all.

I play on all consoles myself. And I can say there are good graphics on every single one fo the currently available consoles. People like you who chime in just to mention how consoles aren't the place to be if you want good graphics, mentioning the PC at every corner is what's most annoying in these forums. Even to a PC gamer, like I am, it's unnecessary and adds nothing to the discussions. If people want to compare console graphics, because they think it's interesting to do so, why do you even care? People are always comparing consoles together, because they're part of what we call console generations. PC isn't a part of that concept, since it's constently evolving and making steps in power every few months...

Anyways, good graphics can be found on consoles just the same as PCs. Technically, the PC always have the edge when it comes to hardware. But at the same time, to many people, the very fact the the consoles are closed boxed with fixed components makes it all the more interesting to see how game studios manage to master developing on those "gimped" architectures. Again, good graphics aren't exclusive to PC, and this argument should die already.

No one is saying PCs are inferior to consoles.

I play on consoles too so I'm not sure what you are trying to say. What's really not needed is people talking down on other platforms all the time and make it look like their preferred platform is the best choice because of the graphics, which always brings in a lot of question marks in my head. If they care so much about graphics and then bitch about how PS3 has inferior ports, or the PS3 exclusives look so much better than zomg everything else, or that the Wii or Wii U are pieces of shit because they are so weak compared to the competition in said gen, then why are they not opting for the best choice for graphics? Instead they just bitch about how expensive PC gaming is without realizing that the Wii and Wii U are also "cheaper" compared to the alternatives?

When have you actually read a conversion here that's civil when we are discussing these things? I thought Halo 4 was awesome, Uncharted Series on PS3 are some of the most interesting story telling from the 7th gen, and that my favorite game on consoles in the 7th gen is still Galaxy 2, yet when I go into threads talking about how nice it is, there will always be people making silly comparisons. I've had to defend Halo 4, some Sony related things(not the Vita though....), and Nintendo in general because I think people are ridiculous when shit talking graphics. What has always puzzled me from the first paragraph still hasn't changed though.

Also, PC is part of it, because people do play games on it, I think not mentioning the PC because it's obviously better is strange, because when it comes down to it, if graphics is sosososo important on consoles, then why do the sales generally not reflect that? Doom spilling on anything because of graphics is just silly IMO, so yes I do bring PC up. Be it approved by you or not, is not something I actually care that much about, but I do feel like I want to explain myself if nothing else.

The best choice? No. It's the most expensive. Not the best. Best is subjective. Price isn't. There's a reason why consoles exist. Most people don't have over a thousand dollar to put on a PC to get great graphics. Consoles are the alternatives. And yes, in case you haven't realised, some of them offer better graphics than others. And even if they didn't, people would mention developers being better than others when it comes to graphics. That's like the awards for best sfx in movies. Some studios are better than others (ILM, for example)... But you don't see the Degima being mentioned much in discussions, do you? -__-

Now, the person here making a silly comparison, is you. You're comparing console graphics to PC graphics... Fixed architectures to an evolving one. A rock to a tree. And the fact that you can't understand the reason why people who care about graphics won't necessarily get an expensive PC is also silly by itself.

It's not so subjective when things are in higher res with more detail and effects with more AA just as price isn't. Consoles might not evolve in hardware but they do in software while PC is based off raw power is the difference. What's silly is people downplaying a 250 USD Wii vs a 600 USD PS3 at launch prices and then bitch about PC gaming being so expensive even if the platform has better graphics. Fixed or not fixed has nothing to do with what I'm trying to say at all.

But, but... teh WiiU haz no gr4fix!!1

Seriously though, good that some devs are actually putting in an effort. Nintendo's 1st party stuff will look fabulous.

NFSMW released on ps360 ages ago, this is an improved game that released later - its hardly worth buying a new console for. its not even a generation leap improvement, not worth the money

I've not heard a single person saying they thought NFS was going to shift consoles.

Wii U has two related problems at the moment: 1. It's selling poorly  2. It has suffered a long game drought.  NFS helps with the latter but will likely have very little influence on the former.

Worst argumenet ever, just beause pc is more powerful, doesn't mean i shouldn't care that ps4 is 12-15x more powerful then ps3, why not save mopney and get a ps4 your gonna get a huge jump from ps3 and way more games then pc. and personally the ps4 specs are enough for me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mf29-F2Nh88 here is a video wiiu vs 360 comparison video

a very small unnoticeable upgrade, cause of the wiiu ram, many mulit-platform games have a bigger edge from 360 to ps3 and this is an enhanced port which came out 6 months later.

You will never be satisfied. Better textures, significant upgrades to both lighting and reflection mapping (both are noticeable and require more GPU power to pull off), very good AA, and better framerate. Pretty much every single visual aspect of the game has been upgraded in some way, yet you call it 'small'. If it were just one aspect that was upgraded, you would have a point, but you cannot (I repeat CANNOT) upgrade so many different aspect of the game without more GPU power. The fact is, we're getting to a point of diminishing returns on power. Since games like this already look very good to the naked eye on current consoles, technical upgrades are not as pronounced as when we were moving from SD to HD in the previous gen. Even watching the Killzone demo on PS4, though it looked very good, did not make current console games look bad in comparison by any stretch.

Your earlier predictions were that some things might be upgraded, while another aspect (like framerate) would be worse. You were wrong.

EDIT: I watched the video and was wondering if you had even bothered to watch it.

Framerate: WiiU clearly has the edge here in the more demanding scenes. In addition to dropping to an overall lower rate during cutscenes, the 360 version also 'stutters' a lot, which you can see as almost a split second 'pause' in the screen refresh. Playing the game on my friend's 360, we noticed it does this during races as well (especially whend taking a corner), but it does not do this nearly as much on the WiiU. Keep an eye on the spinning tires on the cop cars in the close-up shot.

Textures: WiiU has the edge here, but this is difficult to discrern when driving at 100+ MPH - It's much more noticeable in cutscenes. Also keep an eye on the textured damage mapping on the cars.

Lighting: This is where the WiiU takes the cake in my opinion. Until I saw this video, I had never noticed how big difference in the night-time lighting actually is. Just look at the pickup truck towards the end of the video. In the 360 version, it appears to be lit no matter what, while in the WiiU version you can clearly see lighting from directional sources interacting with the vehicle in a very natural looking way. The directional lighting on all aspects of the environment are significantly better on the WiiU version as well. I noticed a difference playing both versions on my TV, but seeing them side-by-side really shows this one off.

Reflections: Once again a noticeable difference here. The reflection mappings look much more realistic due to the higher draw distance on reflection maps. The quality of the reflection effect also appears to be upgraded.

i watched the video and honestly the games look on par, wiiu has a bit better textures, but the jump is very marginal, and its something you should expect since the game is coming out 6 months later. i'm sure 360/ps3 games would look as good if not better if they released enhanced ports.

I guess we should say then that PC games also offer a very marginal jump, since they also have a bit better textures than console releases. And, no, it wouldn't look as good even if it came out 6 months later since Wii U managed to make the game look better and also run at a better framerate than the PS3/360 version.

Congratz, but the resolution and frame rate stayed the same, which is disappointing.

No it didn't, the framerate is improved.
