Forums - Nintendo - Digital Foundry: Most Wanted U beats PS3/360 versions

Congratz, but the resolution and frame rate stayed the same, which is disappointing. It does have the texture advantage though which is great. I personally always notice the low-res textures in PS3 games.

I'm sure some inferior ps3/360 gamers will post refuting this then state how the ps4/720 will be superior in every way, inferiority complex over Nintendo and it's gamers

Seems like someone isn't part of the glorious PC gaming master race and has to compensate :P

I LOVE ICELAND!

I thought EA still hated Nintendo? Or is this them just polishing their hate?

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

Wait what? So people not playing on Nintendo Systems are inferior?

And since you started it... Yes as far as i've heard the ps4 (and 720) will have superior specs than the Wii U... Not that that matters though since this is about NFS: MW...

OT: well criterion did say they would make it the best (console) version so it's not really surprising

I think he jsut used poor choice of words. There was a thread earlier using a "selected" review that was bashing the Wii U for hainvg worst gfx than the 360/PS3 version. People were using that as proof that it was worst, when clearly the developers were saving otherwise.

Basically it was some random small review sites vs the developers word and people took that over other reviews and developer as gospel of the truth.

It's not only a poor choice of words though, because then he adds that PS360 games have an inferiority complex (which makes no sense...)

You are right, inferiority complex is not a good concewpt to use here, I think the word he really is trying to describe is envy, and what do you know? Envious posters are on full display in this thread as predicted.

Envious of what?

I have no idea. Seems weird right, but there is deeprooted envy from somewhere. Maybe it's from sales totals last generation, or the cultural impact of Nintendo that no one can match? They secretly think Yoshi is adorable? Could be any number of things. You'd have to ask them, I don't know what drives them. Unfortunately, most likely they'll reply with something along the lines of:

"That's retarded, I have nothing to be envious about. I have the best gaming system and best games in the world why would I be envious?"

They will fully believe this statement themselves and are probably not consiouc of their envy, but there is something that promts the kind of responses you know you will see in a thread like this. Statements that takes the form of either belitteling or ridicule. Very strong tells of envy. Go back and see who feels they need to make statements like "It's a late port, they had more time to polish it" (belitteling) or "Wow, next generation console and you can barely see any improvement" (ridicule). The deeper reasoning for making these kinds of statements are almost rooted in some sort of envy.

That people are envious is not the same as having an inferiority complex though, so I agree that claiming that as the reasoning is bogus.

You just completely tried to avoid arguing with all this text. If you are calling someone envious of this game it is because you identified things in this game to make those people envious. You can't call on someone as being envious and then pretend you don't know why they are envious.

Envious of what? What makes them envious? Why should they be envious?

Well, not suprised. The single review stating the graphics were worse WAS just trolling after all. Hopefully our crimson ninja will shut up now.

It probably hot more to do with ignorance.

Killzone for PS4 will run at 30 FPS. Your point?

It only looks marginally better.

this will clearly sell well

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

No, go back and read it again. I'm not saying anything about what people are envious about. I am pointing out typical responses that most likely is grounded in some sort of envy. Doesn't have to be related to this game at all, it's more likely grounded in some sort of wish for the Wii U to be no more powerful, or just barely more powerful than PS3 or Xbox 360. That type of wishes is the very definition of envy.

Obviously, there's no way for me to know what this envy is based on. Most of the people I am grouping with this type of argument aren't conciouis of their envy themselves. Why would I invest any time or effort into trying to find out? As for why they should be envious, I don't think they should be. I don't think envy in general is something toy strive for, at least not malicious envy as we see on display in this thread and all over VGChartz all the time.

Of course you are not saying why the are envious. That is why I ask you to step forward and say why you call them like that. You call them envious and then refuse to say why they are envious.

So by conclusion, since I can arbitrarily call anyone envious without identifying any reason to regard them as such, I will call you right now, right here, as being envious. You are being envious.
