Good choice, 3DS is hitting stride. Easily the best handheld on the market.

Get FE first. It's the best game on the system.

Then you have some options.

Kid Icarus is funny, pretty, and has a ton of replay value, but the controls are a bit off putting to some.

Luigi's Mansion from what I've played is probably the second best game on the system. It feels like a point and click adventure. So fun.

You should skip NSMB2, unless you really want a 2D mario game on it. It's not that good though.

Super Mario 3D land is decent. Again, I wouldn't highly recommend it, but it's alright.

Resident Evil Revelations is a really good horror game that is perfect for the 3DS. You can take the system to a scary place and play it with headphones like I did. (Awesome)

Pushmo is a really clever puzzle game that is good for small spurts.

StarFox and OOT are both excellent ports if you haven't played the originals, or just want to play them again.

Mario Kart 7 is one of the weakest entries in the series, but it's still Mario Kart, so still pretty fun.

MONSTER HUNTER 3 ULTIMATE

Buying the 3DS over the Wii U probably was is the better choice. 

Buy Luigi's Mansion 2, NSMB2, Mario Kart 7, Resident Evil Revilations, and Fire Emblem for sure. (If they interest you, of course.) Pre-order Animal Crossing (if you like that type of game) and Pokemon X/Y (when Pre-Orders are out... or are they?!)

Yeah I think getting the 3ds is a much better choice than Wii U.

Besides what others have said one of my favorite games is Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars, it's not a fps like the big console ones, but it's a top down tactics game, I sunk a lot of time in that game haha. It's one of the older 3ds games so it might be cheap now.

3DS over Wii U definitely was the better choice. It actually has games lol. As for what games, all the stuff I'd recomend have already been recommended, so yeah. :P

Congrats! I just got a 3DS for Christmas. I don't have very many games for it yet, but I would definitely recommend Super Mario 3D Land.

Can't go wrong with either. Just get the other for the holidays. But it has the game you want then go go go!

Perfect Choice. Buy Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon its one of my favorite 3DS games. Btw if u buy it before end of april u get a free download game from 7 games ( i recommend getting Super Mario 3D Land or Professor Layton from the 7 choices)
