Well, doctor said to try taking 4 ibuprofen with a coke (yes, the pop...likely due to the caffeine, but I don't drink caffeinated pop anyways, so ya). No effect whatsoever. Pretty much the only thing that helps is sleep, and that is only helpful for a short time.

Regardless, the doc said if the ibuprofen doesn't work (which it didn't), I can go in tomorrow morning and get some sort of shot/injection of something that she seemed confident would take care of the headache.

Update: Went in at 10am this morning (to a different doctor than I had talked to yesterday). This doctor was initially skeptical about giving me a shot, saying that is generally more used towards different circumstances. He then went on to say that rather than that, he had a couple ideas for pills, but we'd follow through and figure it out at the end.

After telling him how tired the headaches had been making me (sleeping 11-12 hours per day), even though I didn't have a sore throat, he ran blood tests to ensure everything was ok there relative to a bacterial or viral infection of some sort. All the tests came back good.

We then discussed possible treatments, and me having no clue what was the best, I simply told him to try what he thought would work best. He wound up giving me 3 shots, as well as a couple prescriptions (one is a muscle relaxer, the other is a beta blocker). As of now, I don't particularly feel the headache, but I'm pretty sure I'm still "high" on the shots they gave me. My goodness gracious, 5 minutes after I got the shots, I just about fainted they hit me so crazily.

I also got some more ibuprofen, as the doctor said I should continue taking that as well. So here's the hoping I still feel better in the morning. I'll make sure to take all the pills through the prescription (10 days worth), because the last thing I need is for it to come back.

I've had migraines all my life. I at least get it 2-3 times a week. I used to have them all the time when i was a child, it was worst back then, really debilitating. I would vomit and collapse all the time in primary school. My parents blew a fortune finding a solution with all the brain specialists and ct scan. Right now there is nothing really i can do but take ibuprofen or just sleep them off. My best advice is to live a healthy lifestyle. Eat a good diet, plenty of exercise and have a good sleep routine. That is what i did to reduce the frequency of them.

try a warm bath and submerging your head to just below your nose, close your eyes and lay there for 30 minutes.
