Report: Wii U price drops not spurring UK sales, Wii Mini sees 'low interest' by Alexander Sliwinski on Mar 25th 2013 6:30PM 0   The Wii U's recent unofficial price cuts in the UK market seem to have done little to increase the latest Nintendo console's struggling sales. Trade publication MCV has quotes from two different retail buyers, the first noting the natural sales bump has "resulted in a smaller than desired increase" and the other saying the thing Nintendo really doesn't want to hear: "They've got to do something otherwise it is GameCube all over again." For its part, Nintendo Europe says it is reaching out to retailers directly over the next few weeks to highlight the "strong and broad line-up of software launching this year." Console price reductions are more flexible in the UK than they are in the States. Meanwhile, TechRadar mentions Wii Mini sales aren't doing much better in the UK. The site reports demand for the unit has been exceptionally poor. The Wii Mini sold 37.5K units in Canadian market, which Nintendo was pleased about.

Wii u will do fine in the UK. There's still no mario kart, no zelda, no wii fit yet. There's plenty Nintendo can do. Bundle it with mario kart at Christmas: sorted.

Before anyone creates a WiiU is doomed thread Vgchartz should use this as an automated pop up message to stop WiiU doom threads from popping up all the time.

No surprises here, though sales have certainly improved, at least locally.

Seriously... why so many threads about the same issue ? Wouldn´t it be simpler just to answer previous threads ? You guys can´t think about anything different do discuss about Nintendo? Or is this just another troll thread to flame fanboyism again ?

I think the number of o's in "doomed" is inversely proportional to how doomed the U is.

The UK loves mario kart more then any other nation. Wii U sales will skyrocket is the next mario looks like a must have. I really hope they find a way to give it that next gen feel unlike New super mario bros which simply looked liked a up-res wii title. I assume by then the system will be £199 standalone.

I'd love for them to implement fun physics and mayb a tiny bit of motion blur too.

I have irrational hatred against Nintendo. I can't help making negative posts about Nintendo.
