This is starting to get ridiculous. All because the 3DS is missing one stick and everyone goes apeshit. Maybe I'm just oversimplifying the whole situation.

Nope that sums it up just about right. People are spoiled over dual analog and assume it should be on all non smart phone gaming devices. The CPP was pretty much Nintendo's comprimise short of a complete redesign which is dumb given the 3DS system is barely 2 years old and a redesign would screw with currently developed titles.

why is that a problem? Just buy 1 kno wat im saying!

MH can be played with or without the CPP. Although the CPP is very useful as it adds not only the extra stick but extra shoulder buttons as well. Something that wouldn't be there if Nintendo had added a second stick natively. That's something both the psp and vita lack a second set of shoulder buttons. It really hurts the Vita as there are a lot of ps3 ports on it which of course make use of the extra shoulder buttons of the DS3, something vita lacks.
The second screen is very useful. Having always on mapping, reducing clutter on the main display. Whenever I switch from playing DS Castle ania games to GBA Castlevania games I always have to get used to manually accessing the map.
Auto-mapping in dungeon crawlers is also great on the second screen. Last year my girlfriend was looking into picking up Lost Heroes (a dungeon rpg) and she was trying to decide which version to get the psp one or 3ds one. She went with the 3ds version simply because of the excellent always on Auto-mapping second screen as it's very useful.
I'll take a second screen over a second stick any day. (You can have both on the 3ds with the CPP.)

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

People ranting about the second analog stick are forgetting that the (3)DS's design philosophy replaces the second stick with... the touch-screen. Which works just as good if not better.
Also, if you're complaining that a second screen adds nothing to gameplay like this Fish guy is preaching, you haven't paid attention.
Only thing here which I would probably agree with is the 3D effect being kind of gimmicky. It's very cool for sure and adds more to quality of the graphics than some extra pixels on the screen, I also play with it turned On 100% of the time, but it's not crucial to being able to play the games in the 'right way'.
Sounds like he is a butthurt Vita fan. I love my Vita and my 3DS. He is talking rubish for the most part.
I do agree that MH3U really needs the CPP to be properly enjoyed.
As to why its on the 3DS: Simple, because the japanese market, wich buys this game by the millions decided so. You want it on the Vita? Tell your fans to run out and buy a Vita, and then maybe theres a chance. Also the second screen is a god send for inventory management and mini-map. And this guy is a game designer?!
Personally, im happy we have a new Monster Hunter in the west at all. Something he doest care about since he didnt have to fight for it, he just takes it for granted.
And for the record, why didnt he get the Wii U version instead if the analogs bother him such? Or, maybe someone should inform him that he can still get MHFreedom unite on his Vita and shut it.
