They simply cannot compete on any level, anymore. Their hardware is lacking, complete dependence on first party with little to no third party support. What is the point of investing in a company like this? There is no point lol.

The market will deal with nintendo, that's what it comes down to. They have isolated themselves in such an archaic 20th century fashion.. it boggles the mind how they intend to exist in any meaningful way as part of the "gaming industry."

I think in 10-15yrs their wont be any consoles anymore. Everyone will be software only (yes, this includes M$ and $ony) and everyone will stream thru the cloud their games to ppl's smart TVs. If this ever happens, with Nintendo games accessable by any TVs, I think Nintendo will be in a fantastic position to dominate over pretty much everyone.

Also, a ''Wii3'' in 5 years is fine with me. I have not doubt it will run out of steam by then after they already gave us our Metroid/Smash/Zelda/Mario... I'll enjoy my wiiU till 2017 and I'll be fine to buy a new console by then, aslong as it's a powerfull console and not a subpar console built on gimicks like usual. I

Since the very begining onf gaming gamers wanted more power, Ninty better listen next time and stop telling us what we want. 2005 was like ''we know you guys think you want more power, but you are wrong, what you rly want is MOTION CONTOLS!!!'', and 2011 was ''you guys think you want more power, but you are wrong, what you want is TABLET CONTROLERS''. It gets sickening after a while.

I wonder if dedicated hardware does go extinct after this next generation. Although saying nintendo will lead the pack is just ludicrous. They have nothing, not even a coherent online strategy.

I wouldn't doubt that within a few years Sony will begin to stream to smartphone and tablets, if it doesn't cut into their dedicated hardware business.

I wouldn't relegate myself to a wiiu until 2017 though... Just buy a PS4, at least you'll get great Sony exclusives. Maybe the next xbox has some gimmicky kinect thing. Don't relegate yourself though...

Anyhow while I don't doubt consoles being phased out eventually I feel Nintendo will might make a console/handheld hybrid so they can focus on one market.

I actually expect nintendo do go a very "Toys-R-US" route if it becomes obvious that they can't handle anymore dedicated market competition. Sony will stream to PlayStation.Mobile & microsoft will do the same with windows phones. Nintendo is odd man out.
