I´m gonna start playing the game very soon, and I was thinking about starting on hard mode right out of the gate..so I ask, is the hard mode in line with other God of War games?...I beat God of War 3 on hard, and aside from two parts in that game, I didn´t find it that hard.

Is anyone here playing it on hard?

the hard mode in GoW ascension is a bit harder than the normal mode in GoW3. but the trails are a son of a bitch, the difficulty level just spikes up A LOT. there is a flaw in the design in that part. honestly, i been playing on hard mode and it wasnt really a challenge, but when playing the trials its just unbelievably hard. i still didnt manage to get through it

i dunno, i played GoW3 on hard and though it was okay. based on reviews i got scared into just playing normal and so far i'm finding the game pretty easy but i'm not too far into the game.

...in a lot of ways the game is easy because the gameplay is a lot more deep and less button mashy. i feel like i have a lot more control over the combat than before. if you are a good gamer with a sense of strategy i'd say you can handle hard.

The part you refer to is the one that´s gonna get a patch, right?

it is. but the other day i read that on hard mode it will stay hard. the funny thing is, that i seen videos of it on normal mode, it didnt seem as much as a challange since enemies died faster, and looking at it i know i could beat it. i would check into the details about the patch first though

I beat it in 10 hours and GoW is the only hack n' slash game I play.

I have the trophy for beating GOW3 on titan mode, PSNID KBG29. On Ascension I steam rolled the hard difficulty until the trials, and now I am stuck. Spent about an hour on them each of the last 3 days, and 2 hours on the first attempt. So far I have yet to make it past the second floor.

I recommend you to play it on normal first to get used to the new combat additions.   :)

basically they will be giving heatlh and magic orbis at the end of each part. so it will be relatively easier. i still havent played it but this will certainly help

the only real problem was the trails(which has now been patched)
