There's a big difference. An official price-cut is carefully planned and often timed with big software releases (see Vita in Japan). The UK price cut was made in the middle of a software drought, so if someone was not willing to part with $350 just to play NSMBU and Nintendo Land dropping the price to $300 probably won't entice him to buy it. On the other hand, if the price goes down to $300 just as say Mario Kart and Smash Bros come out then suddenly you've got a lot more people interested in paying for the console.

Oh I see. Does the UK unofficial price cut damage future price cuts then?

Hard to say but I'd guess it won't affect it that much because when there's an official price cut it will be strongly advertized as a new price for the console and if it is done with the right games then that's all that matters in the end.

Because Wii U will get top software support from Nintendo, which Vita won't get from Sony (aside from Sony Japan, who does seem to give a damn about the handheld, the other top dog Sony studios really don't seem to.)

Again, are you kidding?  Vita has ANOTHER assasin's creed coming out for it, LBP: Vita is often described as the definitive LBP game, Soul Sacrifice launched and moved tons of units, Killzone: Mercenary comes out this fall, and the game launched with a full Uncharted.  In fact sales have picked up a lot in japan and though they won't be this high forever, there is a lot of evidence that the console is going to stay well above where it was a month ago.  The Vita isn't the savior of handheld gaming that I was hoping it would be, but it has proven that it will survive.

On the other hand the Wii U launched with a lack luster 2D mario and a bad-average reviewed zombie game.  Besides bayonetta 2 and a couple of Nintendo games (That have zero gameplay shown), what games does the Wii U have?

NSMBU is called the best entry in the NSMB series and Nintendo Land is a decent effort.

Bayonetta 2 and a couple of Nintendo games is not only what Wii U have for the future.

Recently released: MH3U and Lego City.

Yet another remake of the third MH and a Lego game.  Weeee!

Confirmed for this year already with footage:

Wii Fit U

Yeah I am sure we all can't wait to "Play" this.

The Wonderful 101

To be seen.

Game and Wario

Yeah because Wario games always sell so well lol.

Pikmin 3

The only game that would pique my interest, but TBH this isn't a mega franchise.

Pokemon Rumble U

A half-@ssed pokemon game.  (They should just make a full one)

REvelations HD

Yet another remake that JUST CAME OUT!

Wii Party U

Again I am sure we are all excired...

Wind Waker remake

Remake again!  I can play this for free, in HD, on my PC!

Assassins Creed IV

On everything else.

Watch Dogs

On everything else.

DE HR Director's Cut

Another old port that costs $5 elseware.

And without a confirmed date but already announced:

Mario 3D - Demo this E3

Mario Kart - Demo this E3

Super Smash Bros - Pics this E3

X (Monolith game) - Gameplay already showed

SMT vs FE - Only a teaser trailer

Yoshi Land - Gameplay already showed

Zelda U - Only details shared

My reactions in bold.  Yeah I would say that Pikman 3 and Wonderful 101 are the only games coming out for the Wii U that are not ports, remakes, or things you can get on the other consoles of a higher quality.  So yep 2 games and neither are massive.   So I just have to ask: Do you honestly think those games will be enough to turn the Wii U around this year alone?

If you can't separate your personal opinion towards a particular game when talking about its sales potential, then you aren't having an objective discussion.

So you think those ports and a remake of  another Zelda are going to turn the system around?

I am not saying they are bad games, I am saying they are not what will move systems.

Didn't you say the Wii kept selling more third party software "'til the end" ?  LMAO

And still, you don't have the data to support your claim that they made more money selling all those millions of third-party software. "'til the end" LMAO. If Nintendo was doing so great then why did they kill the Wii? gotcha indeed.

I suppose it's unfair to expect you to know this, but I'm solidly in the "2010 was the Wii's last year" camp, and that the system was effectively killed off after that. As for your assertion of lack of data, well, if you're unable to add one and one together, I suppose I'll have to write you off as a lost cause; I'm always happy to converse, but at the moment I really have neither the time nor the interest to educate anyone in basic logic. So consider me "gotten," or whatever term pleases you. In the meantime, I intend to continue discussing the issue with the adults in the forum. Feel free to get in whatever closing word or words you wish. Just be advised I'm extremely unlikely to find them worthy of a response.

But have fun!

Leaving aside how Assassin's Creed is not first-party (nor, apparently, developed by any of the umpteen "main" AC studios), I would actually find your list concerning, were I pulling for the Vita. Little Big Planet is the only game that I'd argue was developed by one of Sony's A-teams, which doesn't scream "highly invested" to me. Moreover, these games have nearly all come and went already: does the effect strike you as impressive?

The system may ultimately survive, but if it does I'll have a hard time crediting Sony's first-party efforts for that.

I would consider Bend (Uncharted) and Guerilla Cambridge (Killzone) to be AAA studios lol.

A more accurate depiction is that you consider Bend (Syphon Filter) and Guerilla Cambridge (MediEvil) to be AAA studios.

Which is fine. But I suspect few people are going to join you on that one...

Guerilla cambridge is part of guerilla games.  You can pretend it isn't if it makes your rediculous points sound better to you I guess.

Oh and Bend has made many great SONY games over the years that are AAA games.  So again if it makes you feel better...

"Guerilla Cambridge" was created in January of this year, when some UK studios got closed down, restructured, and had their name changed to reflect the fact that they'll be making portable spinoff titles of Guerilla Games' series. Apparently slapping a new name on something is all it takes for you, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

As for Bend, like I said, if you consider Syphon Filter to be a AAA game, then more power to you!
