so here is what i got out of this...

you are telling everyone to discredit a rumor based on another rumor.

you are telling everyone to stop jumping to conclusions because you've jumped to a different conclusion.

i'm sorry but i fail to see how your speculation is any more valid then someone else's speculation. we'll know soon enough but all i see in this thread is a pot calling a kettle black..

Lol this. He's telling us not to assume then he tells us what his assumption is. He might be right but it's arrogant to think that he's the only one that understands.

I will take it off from the energy socket, then it cannot connect. Problem solved.

Also, my console can dance the Marcarena while I am not playing, I don´t care.

If it magically connect even without eletric energy, then MS is full of true geniouses who discovered a endelless free energy source and should win a Nobel prize.

How gullible are you guys? come on! MS is the only console maker charging for online play hell they even charge for letting you watch Netflix. This installing whole games on to the console is for blocking used games not for comfort or loading times and you know it.

One you install the game the disc is worthless in another console.

One last comment I want to make. EA has some kind of deal with MSFT correct. now if MSFT does block used games and Sony does not I would not doubt if EA puts all of there games as timed exclusives on MSFT's console so all games are sold as new for let's say 1-6 months. It wouldn't be out of the normal if many publishers and developers would take the same approach so for all of the sony fans saying this is dumb, well it is not. it is a business strategy that will help publishers and developers (which they have been screaming about for years. Do you guys really not think they won't take advantage of this?) and in return help MSFT. So if they team up together (which they will) then it isnt looking so high and mighty for sony any more seeing as MSFT would be getting timed exclusives from many big games. So before you guys draw conclusions without even thinking them through try thinking.

If this made any logical sense (and it doesn't), this would have been done this gen when publishers realized how easy it was to pirate 360 versions of their games. Or it would've been done two, three, or four generations ago, when publishers found out how easy it was for their games to be pirated on the PC.

On the subject of the "Always On, Always Connected" rumor. If true, I don't see what the big deal is with this. My PC is always on and always connected to the internet. And my PS3 turns itself on automatically to download patches and updates at 4 in the morning. Either of these can be turned off by my choosing, so I'm sure the Next Box would have it as a mandatory feature.

The rest of the subjects of your post were either addressed by someone else, or completely ignored as they should have been.

The Playstation Avenger has spoken.

Oh so DRM wasnt created?  Online passes?  forget about that stuff or the fact that developers and publishers has wanted to block used games for years?

Let's just tak ea look at EA and Ubisoft's DRM strategy and tell me that they dont want to block used games?  Then you have sony which are going to allow them to make the choice to block used games.  Do you really think developers and publishers are going to be nice and not block them?  They have already proved that they want to block them with some very sketchy strategies

What I'm saying is people are not thinking. Not that i'm right on my judgement.

1.  People saw always on and jumped to a conclusion which could be a number of different things.  Still the way it was worded sounds to be Sleep Mode.

2.  People saw installs and jumped to a conclusion.  Now this oculd potentiolly block used game sales but let's not forget installs on PS3.  It could be a number of different things so once again it is a conclusion and until you hear MSFT say something about it, all it is is journalist getting hits on websites.

Speaking of blocking used games, do you think publishers and develpoers wont choose to block them on PS4?  If they truly have a choice, then A LOT of games will be blocking used games.  Specially EA and Ubisoft.

3.  Used game sells blocking used games could actually lead to success for MSFT, Sony, Publishers, and developers.  Dont be surprised to either see exclusive deals or both MSFT and Sony blocking most used games.  People saying it is dooming them isnt thinking that one all the way through.

4.  The only thing that could really hurt MSFT is always online.  That is because a lot of people dont have internet to do that.  It is doubtful that they are doing always online.

Hoevever people need to start thinking about the whole picture and stop buying into every rumor that they see.  If you know how journalism works then you should know 1 rumor turns into 100's because every journalist will go and write about the same story and twist words around.

Journalism.  Read my comment above.  And since when did we hear MSFT officiolly say anything?

From DigitalFoundry twitter :

"No, the suggestions I've read suggest that the unit won't actually work without an internet connection."

shakes head. What's the point of arguing what they're talking about if you're just going to say "anyway MS didn't even say this".

We have reason to believe that they said this. They said always on, and followed by referring to a quick suspend, and they said "always connected" and followed by referring to downloads while you weren't playing. They said "always on, always connected", but your argument is that they just meant to say "always on" and that always connected is a redundancy, and in no way anything to do with internet despite "connection" being a fairly standard term for internet access.

You're arguing semantics and meaning and rumor, calling people desperate, and just really sour saying things like "it's not that difficult to understand", and then turn around and say, "well, harumph, MS never even said this".

I'll pass.
