I can understand the tight budget part but from what I see on the video is that it was already announced to be on PS4/NeXbox/WiiU.  I would consider big like saying the new BF4 is coming to WiiU with full scale multiplayer because that would be surprising.  This is not surprising, it looks meh, and I cant see many people really caring.

The thing is I would have never even asked or be saying any of this if it wasnt for the title saying it is big.  I'd say most people doesnt even know what Unity is

well this just confirms that unity is coming to ps4. why pezus said big in the tittle i dont know, i wouldnt have said it if i made the thread but it doesnt really matter. but if this happened in 5 years ago and they announced say ps3 support i wouldnt have said this is big. but now i would say this is rather important, considering the rise of indie games and sony's stategy at supporting them and how they want to embrace and grow the indie space i would say this is a rather important part of that stategy.

its not as popular as unreal or cry engine between gamers, but for developers its certainly well known and a rather good option for smaller devs

That I'll agree on.  Anyways as you said this is cool if it helps indie games.  Indie games are definitely on the rise.  In fact I probably bought more Indie/Arcade games last year than $60 retail games.

yeah i see this helping indie games a lot. and if this means more games like journy, then awesome!

Unreal Engine is pretty easy but you guys say this is even better? I'll be checking it out for sure. Could help my stuck in limbo PSM game lol.

Of course it is, but I won't/can't disclose my junk!

do you work on unity or you cant say that?

As a matter of fact, yes. My first game will be a combination of engines/products, Unity 4.0 being the biggest!

I've heard you say a few times that you are working on something.  Do you work for a studio or is it indipendent?

Indie. After June, I can disclose a ton more, guys! Just bear with me till then, I apologize for the vague lead-ons.

Fair enough.  Good luck with whatever you are working on

Unity is multiplatform and cross platform , when you make a game it will work on any platform, even on a browser, which is why Unity is seriously one of the best things to happen to gaming recently, it puts the high end engines to shame, plus its actually looks good , really good.

From concept to final code, it's easier/faster/friendlier etc. (on basic games)

its not really that simple, and i honestly cant give you a 100% correct answer, but its like this from what i understand. unity is simple to get used to, its simple to learn and it costs less plus development on the engine costs less in the long run. however, unreal being more complex or complicated isnt without a reason, it can do more stuff and better, though it takes more effort plus money. its all a matter of perspective, an indie or mobile dev will say that unity might be better since its cheaper plus easier. though a big publisher or dev might say unreal since it can produce higher quality graphics or do more stuff. each one has there perks, and each one are built and created with a bussiness strategy in mind. so you cant really say one is "better" than the other, because at the end of the day it matters what you want and need from an engine

... Not so big really.

My question is: What is really big about a multiplatform engine being on as many platforms as possible? So to the news I say meh. It is a pretty nice "cheap" alternative to the Unreal Engine, though, and opens up game development possiblities to others that use it mainly Mobile Phone game developers.
