Wii U launch = 3DS launch. There's going to be a deep price cut necessary sooner than Nintendo would like.

Didn't Wii U get already some prices cuts. They aren't official ones, but i have read lots about it lately. So we might see if it sells next week or not.

Eh, it needs games and advertising. But the Wii U Deluxe bundle sold out this weekend due to 'unprecedented demand' here so...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Global numbers are up.

More of the same for the Wii U; Vita numbers softening in Japan and still ass in the West.

That was a pretty steep drop off for Ascension compared to 3, considering that both were on the market for the same amount of time in both the US and Europe. So much for people thinking it might sell less being "delusional".

In this case, I wouldn't take anything regarding its sales as concrete. Bear in mind the game had bundles, which doesn't seem to be reflected in the hardware at all.

Wouldn't it still have been a big drop even if ALL the PS3's sold this week were the GOW bundles? Granted, considering the sales accuracy around here lately, I can understand being skeptical. :p

It'd be nice if Sony puts out sales numbers themselves like SE did for Tomb Raider and Blizzard did for the Starcraft expansion.

Oh, I have no doubt that Ascension saw a substantial drop from III, but with the hardware not seeing an uptick for the week, one has to wonder just how big (or small) the reduction may actually have been.

That's true, but I honestly don't expect the bundle to have as big an impact either. It's not like back in '09-'10, when they had just released the Slim at $300 and could really tap into pent-up demand. Most people who wanted the game probably have PS3s at this point.

Just...no. Just look at how Call of Duty bundles push Xbox 360 sales. This has been proven false with each Modern Warfare and Halo release. There are always people looking for a console to play a God of War or a Halo or a Call of Duty. ALWAYS.

Okay, so how much DO you think it sold then? Just curious.

How much do I think what sold? If you're talking about how many PS3s God of War pushed this week I can't tell you but I'm sure sales shouldn't be down 7% on the week of a 600k+ exclusive release with bundles.

Hardware sales -7% on God of War week? Yeah, not buying it.

they are still using the same numbers as before NPD and returning to them

i always thought this too until i came to this site as halo 4 didnt seem to do much for 360 if i remember correctly, maybe just too late in the gen for impact

Atleast 3DS is back on top where it will stay most of the year.

I got a little adjustment in the numbers today.

3DS 0
PS3 0
360 0
Wii 0
DS 0
PSP 0
PSV -3,596
Wii U 0

GT5 sold 15,188 units this week... almost flat (15,206 units last week)... for now the lowest week sales in the year.

I have a felling this game will not sell less than 15k this year (again).

How does VgChartz get the hardware numbers?

Media Create/Famistu = Japan
Some stores = US
Guesses = EU and Others

I'm just kidding... I don't know for sure... well the Japan is certain at least.
