No one with realistic expectations would be surprised about the precipitous drop-off in sales for Vita and Soul Sacrifice in week 2.

I'm not sure what you were expecting. The two systems combined weren't selling near half of 3DS sales in Japan, and Vita sales are currently up 4-fold or so from 4 weeks ago. I don't see how that's "bad". Just the 3DS is very "good".

It aint that bad, It'll go up Week ending Mar 24th to around 42-45k then drop down to maybe 35-38k Week ending Mar31. Apr it'll drop and do anywhere from 15-30k per week.

A price cut in the west now won't do jack.

They need to couple it with a major game release. Sadly, only KZ or AC are the only confirmed titles big enough for the West for the price cut to be effective.

And KZ might just get delayed because of GTA5 till October.

And in October, Pokemon comes out.

I think its really unfair to expect an 8 year old system, and its ever struggling successor to out sell a system which seems to always have two or three high-rated games up its shelves at any one time, for more that a couple weeks.

Compare DS to PSP, Compare Vita to 3DS. WiiU is doing Horrible we kno, Vita looked good for 2weeks and it'll look good for another 2-3 weeks in Japan then fall down to 15-25k per week(3DS has a major game coming Mid April and hardware will sell 10x over Vita numbers).

So we're just picking random numbers? lol.  I don't see the point.  The OP is talking about Sony handhelds combined after a significant Vita price drop not holding past week one.  What do global PSP/Wii U numbers have to do with any of that?
