I probably would since to justify the price they would have to give Gold members more features than just cross game chat to get them to keep paying. In that scenario yes, if just the access to apps and cross game chat then no.
Would you still pay for Xbox Live? | |||

Who's to say they are Sony fans? Maybe they're just Microsoft fans who are actually capable of criticising their preferred platform. |
You're lucky to get more than 10 Microsoft fans on here

Cross game chat was never an Xbox Live feature, its integrated into the system. It would've been available on both platform had it not been for the PS3's ram issues. luckily with the Vita and PS4 this will be fixed.
the only reasons I have been an on and off member of gold was due to multiplayer online gaming. I have free Netflix on at least four other devices I own at one time which is the only thing on gold that I used otherwise. Gold for gaming and Netflix still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

That's a good question. Party chat is nice, but I don't use the apps. I pay for XBL Gold as an entry fee to my favorite games like Halo 4. If online gaming was free I'd probably still want Party Chat. Even if the price was the same it's not enough to give up Party Chat. I spend more on candy every month than XBL Gold. But it would be nice if MS dropped the fee or gave those who only play online a little a cheaper option.
I wouldn't pay for Live. Paying for MP is the single only reason why I haven't got an X360. I really (and I mean really) wanted to get one a few years ago, before the PS3 price cut. I wanted it to be my go-to console this gen, it was affordable, had cool games, I've just played GeoW on my PC and I loved it, my Canadian friend told me that Halo 3 was the best online game ever. I really wanted to get it, but... No. Just no. I refuse to pay for MP. I'd rather spend that money on games for PS3. So this is one X360 that would get sold years ago and would give MS many games bought. Instead I went with PS3 and gave my money to Sony. I still plan to get an X360 next year to play those 8-10 exclusives, but MS is going to get just small change from what Sony got from me, cause I will buy the console only if they make a huge price cut and buy the games heavily discounted or even used.
Guess you have to bear with the consequences of your business moves.
Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!
My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/
My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

How is it not an Xbox Live feature?
You have fun private chatting with people on the same local Xbox.... I'll use Party/Private Chat on Xbox Live.
The xbox has been my prefered system this gen but I will admit to never paying for Live. I refuse to pay it but thats my preference. Microsoft blazed a path for others to follow with Live and it payed off handsomely. But Sony turned a lot of heads with their PSN sevice by offering a choice.
In the end its six of one and a dozen of the other. Microsoft have a healthy income from Live so why change it because I dont like it?

Its in the Vita. Its not an Xbox Live feature. Microsoft did it first, but it depends on system specifications which is why the PS3 couldn't do it since most of the ram is dedicated to playing games and just enough is freed up for multiplayer chat.
