MS and Sony have different ways of accomplishing the same thing. Sony often buys developers outright and MS often partners with 3rd party devs to publish exclusive games. In the end the result is the same. Exclusive games like Gears of War or Resistance.

I assume the contract with Epic was the trilogy. But I wouldn't be surprised if MS threw a shit ton of money at them to get more exclusives.

I see what you're saying, but I don't consider it a 1st party game. Other than publishing rights at the moment, MS doesn't own any of it.

The thing with Epic is basically the same thing with bungie and all those Halos. The difference of course is that Epic can go wherever they want with Gears. And back to your original reply to me. Shooters are more popular in US then hack and slash. But also God of war is more popular in US then most other Sony Ips. But as I said I am sure it will get 1m+ FW and that is quite some hype.

Agreed. Gears is onto its fourth iteration this gen so i think fatigue is setting in. God of War has been blattered about with PSP releases and PS3 compilations. Theres only so much cake you can eat before you make yourself sick of it. 

And ive got my fuckin eyes on you Cod and Fifa, dont think you can run forever.

To be honest Fifa or in general sport games are more or less nothing than roster updates with a little bit better graphics,AI and sometimes a new Engine for physics if they put at least a little bit effort in them.
You can't do much more cause what do you want to change?Football is football - Can't really add anything to the style of the game.
Shooters on the other side have the potential to evolve but CoD is just Copy+paste and as long as they sell that much they won't change to a better.
Look at the "rumor infos"(that are probably true) about Battlefield 4 - This is again such a damn big step over Battlefield 3 that is considered to be a NextGen Game(at least on PC).Even DLC's like the Closed Quarter Mappack for BF3 changed the game more than all CoDs did combined.
There are shooter Franchises that evolve and get better cause developers care and want to push harder with every game and some don't.

Well people are more than saturated.Not the real Team behind that,not the normal maincast and other aspects affect it probably too.
God of War somehow reached that point too even if it was an upgrade to the franchise - But GoW3,Collections,PSP Games and stuff is to much in one Gen and people start looking forward to NextGen(or other NEW IPs still coming this year for PS3)

You know a game has no hype when TurkishCritic cannot even be bothered to log onto Metacritic and give the game a 0 score. I mean, Gears 3 got one. Judgement gets no love though :(

In regards to Gears, I don't think the lack of hype is due to fatigue. I feel MS and Epic purposely kept hype low. There was no collectors edition, there is no special console, there isn't even a special controller.

I feel like its just another release to keep fans interested in the franchise and try new things. Seems like they're being careful not to tout it as the next big Gears release. I'm sure the next gen release of Gears is gonna have a huge marketing campaign. Especially if it somehow becomes Gears of War 4.

Their was also not much hype for Halo 4 and look where the sales are now. their is really no need to hype everything up like some sony fans love to do =).

Well, the hype mostly happens on forums which have close to zero impact on ppl out there :)
