Forums - Gaming - Anyone else kind of disappointed with those Tomb Raider sales?

It broke a million first week. That's incredible for this series. Tomb Raider lost a lot of it's hype in the past two gens but it should be back on track after this game.

I'll do a (crappy) comparison of the Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raider's.

Underworld
PS3: 159,364k
360: 81,910k
Wii: 21k

However, VgChartz Data is just off. SE reported that Legend sold around 3 million while Vgcharts has it at half that. But it is known this new version had the highest First Week of any game in the franchise which was previously held by The Angel of Darkness, which was the 2nd lowest total sales of any core TR.O

Obviously you'll have to compare years down the line to see how it compares to the Core titles aside from TRC which it will probably pass next week, and games seem to be more front loaded now.

This is why people think games like LBP are flops when they release at 300k

well they forgot part of tomb raiders appeal was the agelina joliesque lara croft.

over 1 million first week without steam sales? no there pretty good. lets hope it has good legs

Anyone who thinks 1 million first week is bad need their head checked

I'd compare this to Arkham Asylum in that people are probably a little skeptical about it at first but word of mouth will give this title legs.

even tho i dont trust them those are amazing sales

No, such an obvious Uncharted ripoff should deserved no more that 500K units sold.
