HAYTCH DEE motherfu**ers. I am surprised about the result of the poll. At least it looks pretty good.
The draw distance is so far that you can see the back of your head.
I find it annoying seeing things popping up at close range.
I would say the draw distance is 'next gen' (certainly above what current gen can do), and texture resolution is good, but I wouldn't expect a Lego game to push the visual envelope when it comes to realism. It's a solid first effort and looks very good for what it is. X should really push the envelope for what we can see on the WiiU.
If it's about size, MGS4 is clearly Next-Gen with over 40 GB of data.
I know you don't wanna hear it, but the Wii U is simply not powerful enough to do Next-Gen Graphics. It sure can look somewhat better than on PS3 and 360, but just lightyears away from PS4 and Xbox 3. Besides, I have yet to see a game that beats the graphics of Beyond or The Last of Us. And yes, I have seen Lego City.
Of course graphics do not determine the fun you can have with a game, that is a totally personal thing anyway. But everyone who's expecting graphics that blows him away won't find them on Wii U. And these "Is this or that Wii U game Next-Gen?" don't make any sense at all. The simple fact that you have to ask if it's Next-Gen or not speaks for itself. Praise Nintendo in every way you like, but not when it comes to graphics. It's ridiculous.

Nothing on the PS4 has blown me away either. I mean if the Deep Down video was actually gameplay than yeah that is impressive, but right now all I see is PC graphics. Nothing has impressed me the way Rogue Leader did when it launched on the Gamecube. Killzone looked good, but not way better than what Ive seen this gen. Wii U offers next gen features with its dual screens, OS, and nfc as well as its visuals. Its evolved the way games are played. And when X was shown there was no question it was next gen. No game from this gen had a draw distance with such incredible detail. And Im sure if they were to focus all that energy on to a small space like Killzone did they could produce a game that looked like quite similar at 720p
But on to the topic, Lego City looks good, but its a lego game. What are people expecting
Games are fun.
Even when it's not a realistic looking game, technically it's very advanced. Draw distance, texture quality, number of characters on screen, post processing effects... They all look very next-gen.
The draw distance, lighting, pixel perfect shadows and depth of field are beyond anything that the PS3 and 360 GPUs are capable of, therefore it is a 'next gen' game.
Game looks great, but it's on par with anything the 7th generation can do. Don't forget its TT that made the game and not Nintendo. We'll have to wait for them to show some stuff to really showcase what the hardware is capable of. Project X looks pretty darn good and possibly a cut above the 7th generation of consoles.
