Forums - PC - Portable PlanetSide2 PC

What is the most portable, lowest price PC you can make for Planetside 2? Considering how great the game is, I was thinking about making a portable PC for it for local play. Ignoring the GPU (too much variation) and salavagable parts (HDD, PSU), but considering the CPU intensive nature of the game, what would you consider to be the ideal (good $ vs performance ratio)  small form factor build for Planetside 2? Would you opt for mini-itx or micro-atx? Intel or AMD? APU crossfire build?

Please change the thread title so that it has the full game name. I came in expecting a PlayStation 2 thread lol. Also in a few hours I can help with your actual question.

To be honest, PS2 is a common abbreviation of Planetside 2 so I don't see why he should change the title. That said, console gamers are the majority here so it can cause quite a bit of confusion. I'm primarily a PC gamer myself and even I came here expecting to see something about Playstation 2!

Anyway, as for the topic, I have no idea... I'm always out of the hardware thing these days until I decide I need to (and can) upgrade when I study the whole thing enough to make a more informed decision on what to buy.

Also came here thinking the PS2 stood for, well the PS2. About your PC...how about a Core i5-3570k? Costs about as much as a Core i5-2500k (at least it does in Germany) and should be able to handle Planetside 2 (or any other game) very well.

Portable Playstation 2 wouldn't make sense as it is portable....Plus Planetside 2 is always abbreviated to PS2 so yeah, get used to it B-|
The 3570k is good, probably the best to go for in terms of $ to performance ratio.

I always think of my good old trusty IBM ps2 first.

Actually it's against the forum rules... Don't make me report you!

You can build something a lot more powerful with Micro ATX since you'd have more room.

Honestly, I thought of a fat PS2 with a network adapter and HDD with PS2 Linux installed, LCD and battery pack. Not sure why someone would do it, but it's doable.
