Publisher to "celebrate a new era of Battlefield" later this month at San Francisco presentation coinciding with Game Developers Conference.

Electronic Arts will hold a Battlefield 4 event March 26, the publisher announced today. The event will "celebrate a new era of Battlefield," the publisher said in an invitation sent to media.

The presentation will take place during the 2013 Game Developers Conference, slated for March 25-29 in San Francisco, California. No further information was made available.

EA announced Battlefield 4 last July, revealing a beta for the game will launch during fall 2013. Those who purchased the underperforming Medal of Honor: Warfighter are guaranteed access to the beta.

Battlefield 4 may not be the only new franchise entry in the works. A report from May suggested series developer DICE was at work on a new entry in the spinoff series, Battlefield: Bad Company 3.

hopefully the PS4 version has the same player count and map sizes as PC this time. 1080p 60fps would also be greatly appreciated (this should be standard as KZ was running at 1080p 30fps on less RAM and not being done yet since it comes out almost a year after that demo was shown).

Let the Microtransactions begin.

Not interested in the slightest. BF games have gone to shit. They are 90% tech demos for the Frostbite engine, 10% game.

BF bad company was the last good BF game in my opinion and BF2 is the best of the series.  BFBC2 ruined what was great about BFBC and BF3 was basically COD gameplay, but with BF2 size maps, it just played like shit IMO. Plus, expect microtransactions overload.

I use to avoid games like this but after playing Black Ops 2, I'm gain for a new experience of a shooter. I did enjoy Bad Company 2 online play so maybe I should give it another shot.

Look forward to it, just don't shove Origin down my throat EA >:/

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games
