Why are gears of war and uncharted on the list? those games are not milked at all, and there are only 4 uncharted games please don't tell me you counted that uncharted card game?

I can take them off of the lists, no problem.  I thought it would be safe to put Gears on because people would be upset if i didnt and yes i included all associations with uncharted like i did with every other series.  like Halo wars or fable coin golf for phones for example.  That is a company using a recognized name to bring in more recognition

Definitely man take them of the list they shouldn't be there, and i think you should put Elder Scrolls on list. :)

Ok fair enough :)  and elder scrolls?  ill look iup what they ahve been doing with the series. I was thinking maybe resident evil as well.  That one sliped my mind

I personally don't consider Halo milked at all, or Gears of War. But the rest on that list probably are

Dude if you don't consider Gears of War milked then why Uncharted?

to me i wouldnt consider either one to be milked.  Not yet at least.  Just like Judgement, i consider Golden Abyss and the card game as milking the series a little.  As I say most people would.  I want them to continue Uncharted though.  Gears id be happy if they gave it a break because I personally loved the way it ended.

The question to the OP is not what we consider milked but would you like to see them continue or to give them a break.  Im not trying to offend anybody.

Yes you have a point there.

There have been 8 mainline Mario games since 2000 including the 2D and 3D ones.

What about ones like paper mario or mario kart?  Also the 2d and 3d marios for handhelds. Just because they arent on consoles doesnt mean they arent main series.  Also Mario party.  Wouldnt that be considered main series?  Or Mari & Luigi Saga?

Uncharted - 1 - 2 more main games and that should be it for Nathan. He deserves a rest.

Halo - Keep going, but never make Master Chief look like a bitch again.

God of War - Maybe one or two more main games. It seemed like they had a lot of ideas on where to take Kratos's story in the first game (see the bonus videos), so they should keep it going as long as the story stays fresh.....and bloody.

Zelda - Keep going. Leave the gimmicks out of the games though.

Sonic - Keep going so long as they keep to the Sonic Generations route and not the Sonic Unleashed route.

Assassin's Creed - TAKE A BREAK. They treat the series like a seasonal TV show instead of a blockbuster movie. I'll still buy them either way though.

Fable - Keep going, but make them less terrible.

Gears of War - GoW3 was so conclusive, they should've ended it there. Judgement needs to be the last in the series. OR move the series far into the future to make it fresh.

Call of Duty - Take a 2-3 year break and come back with a good game.

Mario - Keep going. I think they diversify the games enough (Party, Golf, Tennis, Kart, etc) that it really doesn't matter.

Ratchet & Clank - One last game and then end the series for good. I might cry, but it's for the best. Maybe bring it back for the PS5.

Killzone - I've only played 2 and 3, so it doesn't really feel milked to me. I say keep going.

Metal Gear Solid - Keep going. End of discussion.

Final Fantasy - Take a break and figure out why their games are so terrible nowadays.

Devil May Cry - DMC 4, the HD Collection, and DMC. Not exactly milked, but they went the wrong direction with DMC and it flopped. They should take a break, so as not to diminish the brand any further.

Resident Evil - Take a damn break. Capcom is fuckin up.

lol best response in this thread easily XD  I agree with you too

I think that Ratchet and Clank and Assasin's Creed need a break. Especially the latter one.

I don't think putting up totals really puts into context what milking a franchise really is. NSMB, for instance, has had 4 releases in the past 7 years but each one is on a different platform so if you only own one of those platforms you may feel like its not milked at all. As for Zelda, I can only count 4 mainline games since 2000. I don't know if the portables count unless Nintendo included them in that book they released which is suppose to chronicle the mainline events of the series. Also, are you counting SSB and PSASBR as entries to each individual series because that would really be inflating the numbers like if you included brawl with Mario as well as metal gear because that would be pretty wonky thing to do

I would love to see only two entries per console generation for the big franchises, such as the The Elder Scrolls with IV and V. It gives each series more time to change between entries, as well as time for developers to take more risks with new ideas and intellectual properties in between major releases. An Uncharted or Halo every two years, and especially an Assassin's Creed or Call of Duty every year, is a bit too much for me, which is why I like that Naughty Dog is creating a new IP like The Last of Us.

Kid Icarus is overmilked. Two entries in 20 years is just too much.
