How is the Wifi garbage? Isn't it the only console with an N-adapter in there? I noticed that when i manually connected my Wii U to my N-router, the OS and online features sped up considerably. So for anyone who thinks the OS is slow, please try this. Mine went from quite-slow and freezing up to instantly 10x faster and no problems once i manually configured it.

And you're right about one thing though, the lack of games! I mean the future is so bleak with seriously nothing coming out fo.. *a wild list appears*

Need for Speed Most Wanted
Monster Hunter Ultimate
Lego City Undercover
Injustice: Gods Among Us
Sniper Elite V2
Resident Evil: Revelations
Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag
Project: Cars
Rayman Legends
Oliver and Spike
Lego Marvel Super Heroes
Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
Game and Wario
Sacrilegium
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2
Aliens: Colonial Marines
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razors Edge
Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem
The Wonderful 101
Yarn Yoshi
Wind Waker HD
Bayonetta 2
Watch Dogs
Pikmin 3

....i forgot what i was saying. Anyway thats just games currently slated for 2013? Seriously? And i'm personally so-far getting Lego City, Sniper Elite V2, AC4, Oliver and Spike, Pikmin 3, RE:Revelations, Ninja Gaiden, Yarn Yoshi, Wind Waker HD, Bayonetta 2 and Watch Dogs. That goes with my NSMBU, ZombiU, AC3, Batman and Darksiders i already have, and not including unannounced Wii U games that will arrive this year. 16 games in the consoles first 13 months on the market, averaging more than 1 game per month, not including games yet to be announced? Yes please!

TL:DR. Yeah a big mistake.

PS: I know some of those games have gotten a release already in some regions. I live in Australia, and that list is accurate for where i am as unreleased.

PPS: Yes some are ports, but still good games, and i hadn't yet played them.

Dunno why you bothered posting an actual game list, most people on here including the OP don't care about facts they just want a moan. :P

Looking forward to Monster Hunter and Lego City: Undecover in the next couple of weeks :D

Congratulations your assessment of the situation is probably fairly astute. Adopting the platform so early was likely a mistake on your part, but if you feel there is no future in the platform. Then the best coarse of action is to cut your losses, and transition to something that can actually service your needs. Nintendo promised a change for the better as far as core gaming was concerned, and it obviously hasn't materialized, and the weak sales will probably see to that continuing moving forward.

I wouldn't let the boasts about Nintendo first party games bother you too much either. Most of the people who say those things actually own another console. Which is actually their primary console. They wouldn't after all deprive themselves of games like the Elder Scrolls, Grand Theft Auto, Tomb Raider, Bioshock, Dead Island, Borderlands, and any number of great third party titles. Which didn't come to Nintendo last generation, and probably wont come to Nintendo in this current generation.

What it really boils down to is they really want you to support their multiple platform lifestyle. They don't necessarily care if you cannot afford that lifestyle yourself, or that you have to sit around paying their dues for them. After all when Zelda or Mario aren't coming out they are playing fantastic games on their 360s or their PS3s. They really couldn't give a rats ass if you aren't getting the best gaming experience possible.

They own a Wii U for all of a few games, and if they were locked in on just that console. You can bet your ass that they would be doing what you are doing right now. They wouldn't put up with not having games to play, and not getting to play the really awesome third party games. So why should you have to put up with it.

I am sorry but Zelda isn't a substitute for The Elder Scrolls. Mario Kart isn't a substitute for Grand Theft Auto. A Mario platforming game isn't a substitute. For all the great shooters/action/racing games. I am not saying the games that Nintendo makes are bad. Just that they aren't worth missing out on the bigger world of gaming. No gamer can last long on all of three great games a year. Most hardcore gamers expect to be playing six or more.

You made the right choice. If they want those Nintendo games so bad. Then they need to make the Wii U their primary platform, and buy games accordingly.

Actually a lot of primarily Nintendo gamers i know, if they bother to care about such games at all (i don't, for one, the bold are all wel outside my sphere of interest) get them for PC.

well thats if you own pc,most gamers own one console and no pc, that's the reality, sure you won't see this much on gaming forums, but that's what the majority is.

Non-PC owners are a dying breed.

i'm talking about a gaming pc.

Given the system requirements of PC/console multiplats pretty much anything qualifies. My brother has five year old PC and he plays Skyrim at mid-high settings at least.

Poor choice. Should have sold it on Amazon/eBay instead.

Well your pretty much wrong if you brother bought a pc 5 year ago, he must have bought one with gaming machine in mind  as well, if he bought a decent/cheap  one 5 years ago, it would not be able to play to games at a decent frame rate.

Erm...you don't see the future of the Wii U looking good...so you replace a current gen console with Lego City Undercover, Monster Hunter 3G Ultimate, Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, Need For Speed Most Wanted, Wii Fit, Game & Wario, Wind Waker HD, a 3D Mario and Mario Kart 8 all on the way...for a last gen console that's only going to have a few more years support from third parties at best and virtually no first party support after this year is up..?

Apologies for being blunt but that's not the most intelligent thing you could have done lol. Are you insane..?

I think what you got was worth it though. As much as I like LBP2 and Vita, LBP Karting looks stupid, but Playstation Plus is worth it. For a year you'll get PS3, PSP, and Vita games. I'd recommend still activating the PSP and Vita games regardless if you don't have them because you'll lock them onto your account and be able to download them at any time as long as you're on Plus.

LBP2, Infamous 2, Spec Ops the Line. Vanquish, SSF4A, and Darksiders are the notable PS3 games. LBP2 and Infamous 2 won't be taken off for awhile, but the others, make sure to purchase them for free so you don't lose your chance.

*edit*

Your list of Wii U games, while some are coming out in the near future, are full of games that have no release date and will more than likely be released late 2013, 2014, or later.

Assuming the OP had no PS3 prior, all the games that have been released on the PS3 are going to be new, so whether the Wii U picks up or not is a moot point.  The OP could stick with the Wii U and purchase the new titles at $60 or wait until they drop in price, or do a little bit of research and find out that there's an amazing catalog of PS3 games that he could purchase.  The same could be said if the OP purchased a 360.

With the OPs current purchase though, the OP can pick up many amazing games that have already been out for quite some time and should be able to be found cheap, new or used.  Games like Valkyria Chronicles, Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Mirror's Edge, Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, Army of Two the 40th Day, Dante's Inferno, Lords of Shadow, Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted series, etc.  All these are great games that can be found for $20 or less, and there are new titles and exclusives still coming out.  Games like Ni No Kuni, Tales of Xillia, The Last of Us, etc.

The choice the OP made was a good one.  Instead of having few games he may or may not want to purchase, the OP has a large amount to choose from.  When the Wii U drops in price later on and there is  larger library of games, then the OP can easily pick one up at that time.

*I just saw the post that the OP stated he sold his PS3 for the Wii U, but still.  A large library of games compared to almost nothing right now.  The OP can just get another Wii U later.  Atleast right now he'll have something to play.

Good call.
Holding on to something that is devaluing every second merely in hope that 2, maybe 3 games are good...is a bit desperate. If the WiiU gets good, buy it later when its got a good library and is cheaper.
