Don't put a few games people have been trash-talking nonstop for years on a new console and complain that "Nintendo fans are all talk" when they don't sell.

XIII-2 was very enjoyable.  And don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

I wouldn't mind having the FF XIII trilogy ported over to the WiiU.

It would be a good indicator to see if sales-wise Nintendo fans are just all talk... or not.

A handful of old games that nobody likes packaged together? That is what you would use to gauge third-party software sales on Wii U?

I was so expecting this response !

FF XIII games did manage to sell 9.5 m copies. What on earth do Nintendo fans hope for, honestly ?

We hope for games people actually want to play. FFXIII certainly didn't sell on word-of-mouth -- the response to them has been overwhelmingly more negative than positive.

Don't put a few games people have been trash-talking nonstop for years on a new console and complain that "Nintendo fans are all talk" when they don't sell.

Trash talking ? Should I care about a vocal minority ?

You do realise you are talking about a game that has an 80%  score from both user and critics on Meta.

I'm really not defending Square. I just think it's sad how they are used as scapegoats by people who talk a little too much.

You're using terrible logic.  I have a Wii U, and I would purchase new 3rd party games on it.  But I already have FFXIII on another system.  Porting an old game and using it to judge interest in major third party titles is nonesense.  Now, if they ported FFXV and released it the same time as other platforms, that would be something to judge sales on.  Watch_Dogs will be a good game to watch to see how Wii_U owners respond to AAA 3rd party titles released at the same time as other versions.  It will really be the first such title on a Nintendo system since GameCube.

Yes, you should. Need proof? DMC. The game was trash-talked so hard by a vocal minority before it was released that not even its 85/86 Metascore can save it.

Everyone who wants to play FFXIII has already done so. Everyone who has not played the game by this point is more likely to pass on it if given the chance, considering all of the bad press it's gotten.

I posted this earlier in the thread, but it was largely ignored....sorry for reposting but I mean.....

Could this be it? http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-06-25-tomb-raider-developer-crystal-dynamics-discusses-its-new-ip

A job listing last June said that the title would be for "future platforms" It's still a shot in the dark, but it seems to fit the puzzle quite well. I love Deus Ex but porting it over and announcing it like this would be the dumbest thing ever. I would hope that SE has more sense than that.

Square-enix? Meh

Probably the Dragon Quest X announcement for Western release. I hope Western gamers support it more than they did DQIX.

No chance. Dragon Quest IX sold over 1.3 Million outside of Japan. Dragon Quest X has only sold 650k in Japan. Over 1.3 Million for an MMO Dragon Quest outside of Japan would be phenomenal.

It is possible it could get more support proportionally, as westerners tend more towards console MMOs (to the degree that anyone likes console MMOs, anyway)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
