Yeah, I used to follow amazon.jp's rankings pretty fervently too. Haven't done it for a while.

I think it would be worth dividing up into games that aren't out yet/games that have released. Because they seem to have different scales of popularity. I've seen a first page (top #16 games) with about 2 released titles and ~12 or so pre-orders before, so whatever measure of popularity amazon uses, it definitely seems to favour stuff which isn't out yet based on ranking.

The hardware chart is cool though. I never used to scroll far enough to see where the consoles got to.

Soul sacrifice will be a flagship vital title tho. Luigi mansion 2 will do great no doubt but Japan is RPG centric

RPG and Mario ! Luigi is part of mario so $$$. No doubt though both will do good. I've been following the top 100 for awhile. Luigi Mansion been on top 20 for 2 weeks and its been top 10 for past week and #1 for two days straight (intill today which is #2)

Vita gets the blue and red models up to top 60 for a couple hours time to time. But never stay in the top 100. Imo based off of wat i seen herr, week ending Mar 10 should have 35-50k vita's sold and this week (week ending Mar 17) might drop to 20-35k. But software is doing great in japan. SS will do fantastic, count on it

Soul Sacrifice will probably sell more in Japan but it'll sell less everywhere else. Tbh it's my bias telling me this because I need a reason to buy a Vita 

Maybe we should have warned newcomers that they are killing babyseals... I mean.. it has been a while since they were killed so its not strange that newcomers will start killing them..

It's interesting to see that the Vita is actually doing quite average after their price-cut. This is good for them.
