Well said my liege.

The community is fine.
JayWood is the head of the Snake and he got what he's been asking for.

If you hate the attitudes of certain people so much, then why do you insist on exacerbating the issue by creating threads that draw these people out? I propose the following: If you're one of those people who believe that a certain group of "fans" is worse than another group of "fans", stop talking about the goddamn "fans" and find something better to do. Talking about it only draws out more of them, from every side (as we saw today). tl;dr: If you're preaching something, practise it. |
IMO the mods need to accept that reasonable disagreement isn't damaging for the community. What is damaging is a place where difference of opinions is shot down by the ban hammer, resulting in a very boring place which people will migrate away from due to a lack of interest through forced agreement.
Most people are fine, I think, it's just a few who like to push buttons, which in turn riles up more people. In geographical terms, the Playstation Kingdom shares natural borders with the two other territories, which means it's constantly fighting a two-sided battle. That means we must keep our wits about us!
I suppose you could say that the biggest troublemakers are those who are good at not getting banned while being able to provoke others. It's really a matter of not falling for it.

I'll admit I'm a bit at fault here.
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
You talk about fans, but fans aren't the problem. Fans respect each other and don't get upset when fans aren't interested in what they like and vice versa. The problem are the people who act like fanboys. They don't like it when someone isn't into what they like and they hate it when someone is into something they hate. That's the kind of behavior that ruins the fun. Two fans can discuss a topic they disagree about. Throw in someone acting like a fanboy and it turns into a battle.

I think that's pretty true myself. I wonder what non PS fans think of that statement?

I think we all have our demons to fight and we should all better ourselves without pointing fingers. If I tried to explain why I thought Sony fans were at fault that would help noone and probably wouldn't even be true.
That's what happens when you allow people to build camps. With Playstation Nation, Nintendomination and Xbox Republic this forum is actively fostering console wars and as a result cross console conversations will be more heated. NeoGAF got rid of those big ongoing threads because of this and here it's just starting.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
