Forums - General - first party original ip comparison PS3>360

A good example of a non-first-party IP... Gear of Wars... Epic can make a Gears for PS3 if they want... now Demon's Souls or Journey can never go to 360.

Around the Network

No question about that. That's why I'm a Sony gamer, and why it was easy to game exclusively on the PS3.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

I like out how you specfically cut out the part where i quoted him specifically saying he made the list to compare first party stuidos.

When I quoted you the first time you didn't write everything... I made another quote after you shadow edit the post .

Edit - Another edit... what studios do you want compare?

The title says 1st party.  none of these are first party, and ICO isnt even a original IP.  That is a remake of a PS2 game.  Halo wars is also questionable for an original IP and if it is then Forza Horizon should be on the list.  This list is screwed up at the moment.  No offense to the OP but 1st party means games developed by 1st party developers.

Title says 1st party original IP. Thus, most of the games on the PS3 list are correct, while most on the 360 list aren't.

I looked up the Sony list myself and no it is not mostly right.  I couldnt find any info on Dyad so i left it.

And i know for a fact MSFT's list is screwed up majorly.  Mark of the Ninja and Shadow complex for example are 3rd party games.  Shadow Complex is developed by EPIC and idk who develops Mark of the Ninja but i know it isnt a 1st party developer.

You looked at 1st party developers, yes, but not IPs...read what we're saying please

That would not be called 1st party then, that is called owned IP's.  Two different things

Checked Wikipedia and this is what they say:

"However, a first-party game is a title which needs only to have been published by the manufacturer of the console (regardless of who owns the IP of the game)."

Going by this definition, Gears of War would be allowed even though MS don't hold the rights

I think we're learning new definitions in this thread xD

What is with Halo, Fable, Forza, Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts and Kameo on Xbox?

Ico Collection is not an IP it is a port from PS2 games. Flower, Demons Souls and Journey are from third party developers if you count them for Playstation than Gears of War and Lost Odyssey have to count for Xbox too.

@Kasz216 I didn't understand... do you want a list of first-party studios games?

So for Sony...

- Ape Escape
- Siren
- LocoRoco
- Patapon
- Ico
- Shadow of the Colossus
- The Last Guardian
- Knack
- Gran Turismo
- Tourist Trophy
- Crash Bandicoot
- Jak and Daxter
- Uncharted
- The Last of Us
- Kinetica
- God of War
- PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
- MLB: The Show
- ModNation Racers
- Syphon Filter
- Resistance: Retribution
- Sly Cooper
- Infamous
- EverQuest
- PlanetSide
- DC Universe Online
- SingStar
- EyeToy
- PlayStation Home
- MediEvil
- World Rally Championship
- MotorStorm
- Killzone
- LittleBigPlanet

* Note there are third-party IPs exclusive and developed by first-paty studios
* My list is all games made by first-paty studios (PS, PS2, PSP and Vita included)

No that would be 2nd party where a company gets a third party to delop an owned IP.

That would make this into an exclusive list -_-

Anyways now we are going into confusing territory.

Depending on what the OP means by his title if it is 1st party then a lot needs to be removed.  If it is owned IP's then a few needs to be removed.  Either way im not sure why ICO is on that list.  And Halo Wars is very debatable because if it is on the list other games like LittleBigPlanet Karting, Forza Horizon, and PSABR needs to go on the list. Also there is a ton of kinect and move titles that are missing.

Kinect Sports
Seasame Street
Kinect adventures

etc All 1st party

Wonderbook
Sorcery
Sports Champions

etc

Thank you.  I actually made a thread like this not long ago with both sony and MSFT.  The Op's list is way off right now
