There's a double-edge problem to not being required to kill Ceadeus in the first round: if you don't get the wound rewards you wanted right away, you have to kill him and *then* start on a fresh one.

Damn tail.

Yeah, Tri made this exact same mistake and I would have thought that it would have been changed in Ultimate.

Guess not.

Most of the time it's a good idea, because it takes the pressure off of needing to kill him immediately, but also allows you to get the kill carves if you really feel you need them. It becomes a problem if your aim is the horns or the tail. Horns i managed to get today, and all i need is one more tail to get one up the water lance branch.

I just made G-Rank Dober Armor and a G-Rank Zinogre set yesterday. One mantle away from a Gold Rathian set. What a great game! What a blast I have playing it! What a thread that no one's responding in!

On my part, i'm feeling rather bored, just because i've hit the wall on my Fire Lance branch and Water Lance branch. Fire Lance demands Rathalos Ruby, water lance demands fucking Deep Dragongem

Focusing on Ice and Thunder for the moment.

Woo! Rathalos Ruby!

But then you look at the G-rank lance: 75000z and requiring something called the "Rath Mantle" which as the same symbol as Deep Dragongem... urgh...

That's the beauty of this game. Your joy is so, so shortlived before you realize just how much more daunting teh next phase is.

Edit: ARGH i didn't know you could also get Deep Dragongem from Goldbeard! I could've saved so much time just getting a group together and smashing him repeatedly!

Ok, so today I was able to beat naruga, azure rathalos and zinogre a few times... I still working to make my naruga set...

G Rank quest are killing me right now. I actually have to go back to high rank quest and build numerous types of armor sets and weapons to fight the different monsters.

Armor wasn't too daunting: i put my nose to the grindstone and acquired Barroth X after a while, which is enough to tide me over until i get Agnaktor Z, the end-game armor. But yes, G-rank is the wake up call to make sure you have weapons in many elements all upgraded well.
