For me it is the Xbox 360. The console is extremely popular here in America and is the default console of many of my close friends. i constantly play great multiplayer games with my friends locally on their 360. Despite this I've never owned one because I don't want to pay for Live (this thread is not about whether Live is worth the cost, please don't look too much into this statement). This generation I owned a Wii and a PS3 and was very tempted to pick up a 360 through the years but I just never took the plunge.

So what is the greatest console you never owned and why?

For me, it was the Mega Drive. Amazing games, Sonic in its best times, Echo, Streets of Rage, Altered Beast, OutRun. It was just fantastic. The reason why I never owned one is that I got a Master System late and jumped straight to PS1 after it.

A few days ago it would have been Genesis, but I recently picked one up on eBay.

So I guess it's Atari 2600. I never owned one growing up (NES was the first system I played).

Gameboy Advance.

I've never owned portables for myself and I know I would have loved a GBA.

Which is why I'm happy GBA games will be part of WiiU VC.

the DREAMCAST !

never owned N64, grew up a Sony family after the transition from the snes.  Many of my friends kept with their nintendo households and it was great to talk about the differences of the two and trade back and forth sleepovers playing them.

Sega Genisis or gamegear

SNES, the amount of great games on the system is staggering.

Edit: I can't read apparently. Maybe the Sega Genesis, I've owned pretty much all the consoles that I've been interested in.

Dreamcast, as some user already said here. :3 Seriously, I remember playing Shenmue with my uncle's dreamcast when I was...8, or 9, and I was freaking out with the game xD

It's between GameCube and Xbox. I cant decide. Prime windwaker and sunshine are my most cherished. So are halo, Morrowind, and doa.

Can't decide... Both won me over.
