Forums - Sales - Sony "was the No.1 console maker in the UK last year"

does this news not say that sony controls the market for videogames in uk, because that's obviously what he's saying. So 360 sells more than ps3... oh i see, that's what makes it spin, because the data doesn't show what you want it to show.

the fact is more playstation was sold than nintendo or xbox. pretty simple really.

No spin zone here!  Im just waiting for someone to add to Microsoft's total by mentioning Nokia lumia phones, windows 8 and Internet explorer.

If this includes handhelds then that isnt the case either due to 3ds.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

3DS is not doing wonders outside Japan so yes, this is the case. ;)

@sales
do we have numbers that make sense of it then?
home consoles only?

@train wreck
then ms would have 3% behind apple and droid

Very misleading spin but that is par for the course for Sony. For the vast majority of people there's a difference between consoles and handhelds as I'm sure most people here would agree.

yea but does any other industry single out just one product out of their holders platform and not cout every product in their portfolio?

that answer is no, so why does it matter just in game console market? simple there is only one out of the big three with only one console. and that is Microsoft while both Nintendo and Sony have more than one console each on store shelves taking retail channel space in this market Microsoft has just the xbox360, while a fantastic machine it is only one system. there is no spin a "playstation" is still a playstation.! just like a 3DS is still a DS!

I AM BOLO

100% lover "nothing else matter's" after that...

ps:

Proud psOne/2/3/p owner.  I survived Aplcalyps3 and all I got was this lousy Signature.

This is interesting...i thought Sony lost in the UK o.o

Sony are talking about combined hardware not just the PS3, so in other words spinning.

And why wouldn't they combine hardware?

They could, but we tend to have a PS3 vs 360 mentality. So this is kinda misleading.

It's not really misleading. The article says 'in terms of combined hardware' they're No.1 in the UK. If you have multiple consoles, why wouldn't you combine them?

Go on then. One of you. Enlighten me. Tell me just how this is spin. Tell me why the PlayStation brand wasnt number 1 in the UK and why this is misleading.

I also like how "the 4 MS guys" on the site all came into this thread to say the same thing. Somehow it is spin to say it just as it is. PS brand>Nintendo brand>Xbox brand. It's not Sony's fault MS don't have anything else than 360 to sell in the console market.

well said your grace.

MS is welcome to try a handheld nothing is stopping them.
