That's the thing, I mean it depends on you how weigh things. There's things particurlarly on PC that the PS3 just can't do, like high res textures, tons of foliage,

Finding all kinds of documents and relics throughout the island is fun, because it's fully voiced by the people they pertain to and is interesting. There's some cool gadgets, fun platforming and puzzles,  interesting story, and the combats interesting because it doesn't use the sticky cover, and her snake like dodges.

I do wish the puzzles were a bit more difficult, but they are clever. I like it a lot so far.

Well, it is a graphics thread, after all. But, now that you menion it, I was happy with some of things removed that were in Underworld. It was a very frustrating game. There's definitely an emphasis on action, but it blends well. It just does one thing a great deal better than Uncharted - exploration.

oh I wasnt taking a shot at you. This thread sort of turned into the tomb raider thread, probably because of title idk,

But there' was definitely issues with underworld. But mainly at least so far, there's some things that underworld did really well, and aren't in this one IMO.

While I'd have to settle for the PS3 version, I definitely want to try it after seeing this last week. These are always great, but I couldn't stop laughing at this one:

OMG... i laughed soooo hard to conan's comments... this guy is hilarious!

OT: i bought the PS3 version of this game on march 1st and i have to say TombRaider far exceeded my expectations to say the least. it quickly became one of my all time favorite games.. i mean the graphics look incredible and compete with the best of Sony's exclusives no doubt. the gameplay, story and everything about the game is crafted pretty well.

i now have mad respect for crystal dynamics for thier efforts on the game. not to mention this game is the first AAA game ever to come completely in Arabic, which is my native language btw.

Surely nobody is saying this looks better than UC3 on the PS3. We're talking aobut the PC, get with the program.

Drake moves more sexy than Lara though, nobody can deny them animations :'3

glad you like it,will have to get it very soon for the old PS3 as I love a bit of tomb raider, don't think it will play well on my new crap lappy

its going to be summer until I get my new PC together now

You called me crazy when I said Tomb Raider looked great, now who's the crazy one?!!!!!! But yeah the game is gorgeous, even the PS3 version that I'm playing looks sick (They didn't have the PC version boxed so I just picked up the PS3 version). Lighting's fantastic, and it's a very detailed looking game. If they were to actually shade properly this would be the best looking game I've seen. I popped in Tomb Raider Legends a few days ago, with its "Next Gen" features enabled, god it's ugly. We've come a long way in 7 years.

Would you mind linking me to that post where I called you crazy?

You didn't I'm just exaggerating.  Someone, I think it was Nsanity, made a thread showing gameplay from Tomb Raider.  Everyone in the thread was going on about how the game has terrible graphics, game doesn't look to good, etc, etc.  I think you were dissapointed with the graphics too.

I did, because the SS looked terrible, but the released PC code looks great :D CGI did say something about it's still in dev so I should just wait and I said yeah we'll see and then I pre-ordered it on Steama few days before it came out once I confirmed the game would be good.

Computer monitors are a big part of why PC games look so much better than console games.

Well, that plays a role, but the bigger reasons are resolution + customizable features, and DVI vs HDMI. Next gen, things will be closer if most games can maintain a higher resolution.

Yep, not arguing with you there

I just wanted to state that HD monitors have a surprisingly big part of how good games look (at least it surprised me).

Whats the difference between DVI and HDMI? Does one look better than the other?

HDMI can only output 1080p @ 60Hz on console (and most consoles games aren't even in native 1080p), while PC can enjoy higher fps, in addition to higher resolutions with DVI or DP (Display Port). For example, I have my 360 hooked up to a Samsung SA23700D, 3D, 120Hz monitor, yet, the picture clarity is still trumped by my PC (which I have running on another of the exact same model). This is all before we even get to the indivdual, PC exclusive traits.

Both (HDMI and dual link DVI) allow for a resolution of 2560x1600 at 60Hz with 48bits color depth.

Now, HDMI 1.4 allows resolutions of 3840x2160 @ 30Hz, and 4096x2160 @ 24Hz. Which puts HDMI over DVI when all is said and done, but those resolutions and clocks aren't really suitable for PC gaming. In the end, HDMI is a superior tech over DVI, since it can achieve pretty much the same as DVI but also outputs 8 channel audio. Both connections allow a resolution of 1920x1200 at 120Hz.

If you really want to go over the specs of HDMI, DVI isn't the asnwer at all.  You have to go DisplayPort. That is, if you want to enjoy the resolution possible with HDMI, but at 60Hz. It has twice the bandwidth that HDMI has. So for PC gaming enthusiasts, DisplayPort is a no brainer.
