Zelda or Metroid

Both games released around the same time and many consider them to be in Nintendo's big 3 along with Mario. (Though I don't know why)

Which franchise do you like better? While I like Metroid's concept better, its gameplay isn't very good IMO. With that said, I voted Zelda.

Zelda all the way. Metroid is one Nintendo IP that has never sparked slight interest for me

this one is a bit hard but I will go with Zelda

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

zelda and metroid are very similar games too.
Both involve finding hidden items and using upgrades as a means of blocking progression.

Some people really like zelda's storyline while I think it's trite and superficial.
And some people (like myself) think metroid has better ambiance and mood.

It really depends on the entry though. Both last games were mediocre. Though I have to say, I played other m several times and enjoy about a third of the story, mostly the continuation of the super metroid story aspects.

I've never played a Metroid game. Guess I'm missing the boat.

Zelda, for sure. Although Metroid Prime 1 I have to point out was pretty amazing.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

It has to be Zelda, but not by much. Both are in the top five video game franchises, at least to me.

Zelda, but Metroid is next to Zelda.

played a bit of one of the metroids, wasn't too interested in it to be honest. Zelda wins, because every time I play any of them it just captures me, gets right into my brain
