Would it really increase localization chance if they just moved the same games off PSP to another system? I think there's a lot more factors to consider for localization than just the platform it's on.

Yes, absolutely. That doesn't mean every game would be localized, but publishers consider the PSP dead in the West at this point. Not even SE wants to release FF Type-0 for it, while it would be a guaranteed release on 3DS or Vita.

I recall that one of the big issues publishers/localizers in the West see with the PSP was indeed the piracy situation, consequently killing game sales for the system. It's just not worth the money to localize and bring to market. So that really would be another reason to get off PSP, aside from the obvious improvements the new systems bring to the table.

Around the Network

Hmm... Shining Ark does indeed seem oddly low. Hopefully that doesn't translate to it selling poorly on Media.Create.

Otherwise, as expected. I guess it'll make the COMG'ers happy since Layton was struggling :P

But we have sell through data for Layton. Sold like 33% of its initial shipment?

It was 30% of a 300k shipment.  And I think that was first day sales.

And yes.  It was a reference to a post in the COMG thread, but it doesn't matter that much :P

So Senran and PSO did around what, 75k-100k or so according to this? Considering it's above AC and all.

Animal Crossing dropped hard this week on Amazon as well (#14 now), probably due to the big software rush this week on all consoles.

On Thursday, with a wave of new releases and Vita price cut, Animal Crossing was #1 on Amazon Japan. After another Sold Out it dropped down.

My god it's STILL supply blocked?

Nintendo needs to build more supply depots.
