Forums - Movies & TV - Just dumped close to 300 dvd cases- Could you part with your cases?

My problem is games and anime and books , my book problem is I have a lot of fantasy series and what happened with them is the first couple in a lot of series atend to be  normal then my bookstore noting my taste got the rest in trade paper or hard , but they charged me the same as normal seeing i was a good customer and that was great since the trade paper versions are better and they get them earlier for display purposes .

This has left me with uneven book sizes when I shelve them , so i have been thinking of going digital and need advise about the best way to go.

I'm beginning to run out of space for my DVDs, Blu-rays and games, but I honestly couldn't bring myself to throw away the cases, or go all digital.

I have the same problem with books. I like reading soft cover, easy to hold while laying down in the sun and read. But they pretty much fall apart by the time I reach the end, or I forget them outside and they blow up to twice the size in the rain :/
So they look awful on the shelf, and when I catch up I'm stuck with irregular sized hard cover. Maybe I should go digital with books, anyone know a comfortable water/shock proof reader that works in direct sun light?

I dump my cases as soon as I open them :) I started it with the gamecube till this day. It felt wrong at first. But keeping them in licensed cd sleeves is so much nicer.. I had a huge collection of N64 game boxes that I thought would give me more money when I went to sell them. Once I found out it didn't I just looked at it like extra weight.

Good decision man.

LOL perhaps in America.

But in Australia where games were already limited stock, a boxed game can go for 2x the sale price of non boxed for N64.

This is the only way I personally buy N64 games.

I have my own little home cinema and watch movies there I usually buy blurays for like €7 at max (more is too expensive IMHO) and then I watch them and occasionaly with friends that dont know the movies I own.
(I own like 150 blurays. Prestige, Book of Eli, Memento, The Machinist, City of Amber, Gattaca etc. mostly movies nobody none of my friends has ever heard of)

I spend my money on blurays instead of going to the cinemas (blurrier picture quality than at home + as expensive or more expensive than the blurays I buy + overpriced food/drinks)

I have to admit I have somewhat of a space problem right now (because my rack/shelf is shitty) but thats nothing a simple IKEA visit cant fix. (im just too lazy to do it....)

In regards to a reader that's pretty much what I want as well , along with some advice about good places for E books

I collect Michael Keaton films :)

Couldn't do it I like my cases. Especially since some DVD's and Blu-rays have such boring disc art (Paramount being the main offender). I have over 300+ DVD's also they really don't take up that much space a little over 6 feet in height and 2.5 feet in width.

Can't see my self throwing any cases away anytime soon. I own over 2,000+ DVD/BluRay and its currently store in my two closet.

i commend your efforts. i bought over 400 dvds that i now wanna sell. i even have a 400 dvd disc changer. it holds all my discs and i threw away all my cases. Believe it or not, selling on ebay is way simpler without the case.

i see things going toward harddrive/cloud storage so i wanna sell while theirs demand.
