Forums - Nintendo - For those who doubt about Wii U's future; List of Awesome games (UPDATE: fanmade Wii U trailer)

Kaizar,

you...you didn't really have to quote the whole OP...

I listed upcoming games (and no launch games) because everybody's stating the Wii U is doomed at THIS point with recent launch-window games released.

And I also think Wii U will do a bit similar with the 3DS. The 3DS is a more hardcore system than the DS was, like the Wii U is more hardcore than Wii. Nintendo will have to push amazing titles to push sells, like they did with 3DS.

The Problem is, PS3 costs about half as much as the Wii U and gets GTA 5, The Last of Us and Beyond this year. Nintendo just can't keep up with that, that's why I think sales will pick up when the old generation dies. The Wii U can very wel compete with PS4 and Xbox 3, the price alone will take care of that. But against PS3 and 360 Nintendo got no chance at all. Too expensive, too few games, no mass appeal. Even Nintendos First Party titles won't change that all that much.

The Wii U also can't be compared to the 3DS, because the competition is a lot tougher. The Vita was dead on arrival, while 360 and PS3 are very healthy and have a shitload of games for low prices. Now I don't care if you call Wii U Last Gen or Next Gen, but at the moment it's definitely in direct competition with the 7th Gen. But so will be PS4 and Xbox 3.

In the end, there's no way Nintendo is going to dominate like with the Wii. But even if they come out last place, they should be ok. Until the new consoles from Microsoft and Sony have launched, the Wii U can't be really judged, so we will just have to wait and see.

This is exactly the reason why Wii U is selling under expectations right now. I also think you're right Wii U can compete with PS4/Xbox 3. Many think it can't because the graphics aren't pushed that much. Third party doesn't take Nintendo serious enough to put money in graphics and cinematic presentation. Nintendo just started HD development and therefore have not enough experience(although Pikmin 3 already shows some nice next-gen effects). But the system is absolutely capable of showing next-gen graphics and that's what will happen when PS4/Xbox 3 launches and this WONT be a Wii/PS3 scenario. Wii U hasn't shown his potential at all right now.

The Wii U is the second highest selling Home Console ever, after Wii. Nuff said.

I already know why you didn't list launch games, I was just bragging further.

The Wii U has "Single-Player-Asymetrical-Gaming" as shown in Batman AC AE & ZombiU & Wii U Golf prototype & Ninja Castle (within Nintendo Land).

The 3DS has 3D gaming with Motion sensors & 3D camera for 3D AR & Circle pad & virtual Surround Sound Speakerphones & 6 speaker sound earphone jack.

I have been playing Home Consoles for 20 years and am proud to see Nintendo give me something new in gaming like they have with the 3DS & Wii U.

But before I get Deluxe Wii U, I need to get a HD TV, I was aiming for a $300 32 inch VIZIO Smart 3D HD TV 1080p, but I saw 32 inch TVs in person and it's as small as my 19 inch SD TV but much more wider, so now am aiming for a 42 inch of the same TV (VIZIO Smart 3D HD TV 1080p 60 Hz, 120 refresh rate) which is around $400.

I am pretty sure we will be shocked by Nintendo there is a reason why Nintendo dropped Wii support like 4 years ago.

About 3 years ago there was so much speculation about "What's Nintendo working on" since their software output was so surprisingly lacking. I don't think we will be shocked in the way you imagine; I think Nintendo's software department just isn't ever in overdrive mode as a whole as we would think. They release games sparingly, with limited budgets and there will be some gems in there for sure. Nothing super exciting, but definitely workable.

THose 3rd part ports of ps3/360 will not do much for the Wii U's future.

You must be one awesome person. You sound so grown up and mature. Can't wait to meet you and be like you.

A lot of those games interest me.. Question is, will they interest the masses? Some of these games will obviously boost consoles sales at least a bit, just a matter of how much. I still say Nintendo needs to go back to cranking out new types of games like they did on Wii with Sports, Fit, etc, but these games definitly make for a solid gamer at least for the Nintendo fan and perhaps some others.

I'm probably going to wait until next year at this point to pick up a Wii U, since I'm pretty close to getting a 3DS and I have more than enough gaming already. Hopefully there will be a price drop by then, plus, the biggest games for me (Mario Kart, X, Smash, DQX, 3D Mario), will all hopefully be out already.

Lots more games than i though.
