Forums - Microsoft - Replaying Mass Effect with created character ...

I found this option ... you can use the same character you beat the game with, power ups and all, and replay the game. Dang ... I plan on maxing out all of his stats. Has anyone done this yet? And are there any other games where you can do that?

Many games let you start over with extra content throughout the game, like on LOZ:WW you got new clothes, and could understand ancient hyrulian. But as for having all your power ups with you for the second go through, probably not alot of games alow that.

Guitar Hero 3/ Smash Hits

HOW DO YOU DO THAT TELL ME NOW????

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

LOL ... create a new career and there's an option for loading a career. Find it and baam! All your weapons, cash, powerups ... and your crew levels up to your level. I am rogue from the start ... it's awesome.

......You didn't realize this?

It's a new game+ option. Many JRPGs incorporate this into play - Chrono Trigger allowed for a New Game+ with alternate game endings.

Playing over is the only way you can unlock the Extreme Power Gamer (lvl 60char) achievement. Not only this, having a fully leveled-up character allows for extra charm/intimidate options early in the game, so you can get some extra sweet dialogue in the game.

Off topic: I think I may have played COD4 with you, Mr. Stickball. You were pretty good.

Yes, the Neverwinter Nights games and Baldur's Gate games!

You can play through BG 1 + expansion first, then import the character to BG 2 with expansion, then import your character to Neverwinter Nights with 3 expansions and lastly import your character to Neverwinter Nights 2 with expansion (s)... That's roughly 5-600 hours with the very same character and unprecedented in gaming history as far as I know!

Yeah ... it's wild. I have to earn my paragon/regenade status, but I can use intimidation/charm a lot earlier, plus it uses the same save slots. And ... the hours played are added on to the campaign.

Now, that leads me to another set of questions - does the 15-mission rule for the aliens and humans apply here? Do I have to play with them all in one campaign or replay the campaign to unlock the achievement? Thanks.

When you replay, it saves your statistics for EVERYTHING for achievements.

Therefore, it keeps your statistics on:

Missions with squad mates
Side Quests with squad mates
Uses of various biotic/tech powers
# of kills with various weaponry.

Therefore, unlocking those achievements is much easier 2nd time around with your first game's character.

Yea i think theres some kind of bug in the squad mate achievement i played the game twice with the same teammates and still havent unlocked the achievement.
