Forums - Gaming - Why I switched from PlayStation to Nintendo

By OP's logic, with batting average, sheer volume of great games, emulators available and the terrific Inide scene that put gameplay and other values before graphics, he should be a PC gamer primarily...
I agree somewhat with the OP, but for me its more broad, I'm tired of all consoles, not just the consoles of one particular company (notice he never mentions the xbox or MS).

I don't know if it's just me, but I can't get into PC gaming the same way I do console gaming. Perhaps it is because I associate my PC with work, the work station is considerably less comfortable than my couch or that I just never bothered to invest in more comfortable input devices than mouse/keyboard? Anyway, while I agree that PC is an excellent platform for gaming it's just not the same...

I have the same attitude with Smartphones.  I use it for internet on the go and you know calling people.  Plus touch screen ONLY controls don't work for me.

So then did you not clarify your point when I asked? I stated that your point was ambigious and if you could clarify, but here we are...

My point was that Nintendo makes deeper games with more balanced gameplay mechanics (thus staying relevant for years after release which is a testament to substance) and I brought up SSBB vs. PSABR as an example. You then drew nonsensical comparisons between games of different genres and didn't answer my question if you are German.

Pwahahaha, rightyo if that's how you saw reality unfolding. You compared two games of probably the most shallow genre, and then ran away when I mentioned things like SotC, Ico, Flower, Journey, Heavy Rain etc. Those games are far more involved, mature, emotionally gripping than any Nintendo game. But apparently, SSBB is the peak depth of gaming.

Press X to Jason does not constitute mature or emotionally gripping in my book. Heavy Rain was probably the funniest game I played this generation, but not for the right reasons.

WHat was it meant to use besides buttons? Telepathy? Tsch, at least come up with some plausable reasons besides it not being virtual reality.

What I'm saying is that building a game around the quick time event mechanic is ridiculous as QTE is probably the worst gameplay mechanic ever designed. Also, Quantic Dream tried to convey drama and emotion with Heavy Rain but failed horribly, if anything I was constantly chuckling during the game because of the akwardness of the writing and acting. And again, "press X to Jason" I mean come on. Although I must admit that standards for voice acting and screenwriting are low in the gaming industry.

They created a world where only the question, "How real do the boobs look?" became the defining factor for a game!

Except they haven't and this is some retarded exaggeration people have conjured up.

Why do people like me and Aldro rave about Uncharted? Only because it looks nice?

Yes, most of the time all I see from Aldro is like Uncharted looks amazing if nothing else! Not that it doesn't, but the graphics aspect is definitely above the gameplay with that one, presentation is what made Uncharted a strong series, gameplay, not so much.

I'm sorry...what? Have you actually played Uncharted?

yeah? 1, 2, and 3, I'm a big fan. I even played 3 2 times, once with 3D on my Sony 3DTV and once without.

Wait... what happened in that scene? The dad jumps in front of the car to save Jason, the car brakes - cut to a woman who starts crying about Jason. What does this mean? Got Jason hurt while the dad didn't? How, what, why?

the woman was his mom. the dad got into a coma from gettin it from a car moving like 2 miles per hour and jason dies
