Forums - Sony - PS4 may in fact have Native Built in Hardware to Run PSVita Game's!

what is a feature the new PS4 has that is important ! Game's, right well not only that but what kinda games can be offered on the New PS4? pretty Much any right? well the PS4 has something many do not yet seem to think about, and in my opinion have pretty much may not know this about the PS4 chipset. Over @ N4G i responded to a person's claim about the PS4.

"@rainstorm
The extra chip isn't powerful enough for encoding, the extra chip is for background tasks like updating/downloading/uploading "

are you freaking kidding me?

"The extra chip isn't powerful enough for encoding"

really?

So the key to all of this will be the integration of an ARM processor into an AMD APU, specifically ARM’s Cortex-A5 CPU. The Cortex-A5 is ARM’s simplest ARMv7 application processor, and while it’s primarily designed for entry-level and other lower-performance devices, as it turns out it fits AMD’s needs quite nicely since it won’t be used as a primary application processor.

and see for your self

The Cortex-A5 processor provides full instruction and feature compatibility with the higher performance Cortex-A8, Cortex-A9, and Cortex-A15 processors - all the way down to the operating system level. The Cortex-A5 processor also maintains backwards application compatibility with Classic ARM processors including the ARM926EJ-S, ARM1176JZ-S, and ARM7TDMI®.

and exactly why is this important?

"Even if AMD just intends to use ARM for TrustZone today, this opens the door to comprehensive native ARM code execution in the future if AMD wanted to go that way; but at the same time this could end up being as far as AMD ever goes"

you know what else uses and Arm Cortex based Processor? the Freaking PSVita!!

If people did not know this how's enabled native Code compatibility 'inside the PS4 for  PSVita  coded games sound?

No way Sony will use the extra ARM for that... and PS4 seems to have two extra CPUs.

i could see with GaiKai they could in fact with the service stream PSVita games to your PS4, to the Playstation Mobile certified devices, and of course even stream PSVita games to the PSVita!

LOL

That would be great and mean I wouldn't have to buy a Vita.

It would also mean that you would still have access to that content for the PSVita if you ever decide to get one and you would not have to pay again for the content!

Vita would truly be dead if this was the case, so I doubt Sony would be this stupid (unless they discontinue the Vita, which could well happen next year if sales carry on like they are now).

why would it be dead. say if Sony bundle's the PSVita with the PS3, than bundles it later with the PS4 when the PS4 is cheaper and so will the PSVita, or they could even offer a bundle like they did with the PS3 this past  Nov and Dec!

Wow, that's wrong. The ARM used in PS4 is compatible with other ARMs but it's compatible as a Pentium 1 was with Pentium 4, e.g., if you leave out the new instructions that P4 offered. The ISA (Instruction Set Architecture) is the same but not performace, so no, this won't happen.

If this happens, it'd just kill the Vita alright.

How So? Like i have been saying already is if Sony bundles the PSVita say with the PS3 and than move that to a PS4 bundle How would the PSVita really die?

the PSVita's target message like since sony first started making the PSP, has been " play your living room console games on the Go"

remote play, cross buy, cross play, why not cross stream content now?
