SKULLS OF THE SHOGUN ANNOUNCED FOR PS4

Posted by Marcus Estrada on 30 Apr 2014

Skulls of the Shogun is a game that has made its way around the gaming landscape. Hitting Windows Phone, Xbox Live Arcade, and Steam, it seemed poised to always ignore Sony platforms. Today’s post on the PlayStation Blog proves just the opposite.

Developer 17-BIT used the site to reveal that Skulls of the Shogun: The Bone-a-Fide Edition is coming to PS4. This version upgrades the original game with a new mission, special unit, multiplayer maps, and a progression system. These features are not exclusive to the PS4 version and can also be experienced on the Steam release.

17-BIT have mentioned looking into a Vita port, but nothing is currently set in stone. Skulls of the Shogun: The Bone-a-Fide Edition will be out “soon”.

I swear I just linked a video to that game... :-p

There was a video on that article that was the same one you posted. Which is why I didn't include it. Because I just want you to be happy. <3

NIDHOGG TO BRING MULTIPLAYER FENCING TO PS4

Posted by Marcus Estrada on 30 Apr 2014

After much convention touring, Nidhogg launched on PC earlier this year. The incredibly distinctive fencing game was excellent, save for some unfortunate issues with online multiplayer. Sure, you could play with friends in person, but that wasn’t too convenient on a computer.

Messhof used the PlayStation Blog to announce that a version of Nidhogg is coming to PS4. It mirrors the existing PC game almost entirely, save for utilizing indicator colors on the DualShock 4 controller.

Players will be able to engage in living room-based battles or challenge other PSN users. No release date for Nidhogg’s PS4 debut has been announced yet.

JAMESTOWN UPGRADED FOR PS4 RELEASE

Posted by Marcus Estrada on 30 Apr 2014

Scrolling shooter Jamestown originally launched in 2011 as a very pleasant surprise. With fantastic pixel art, a memorable soundtrack, and frantic shooting gameplay, it was hard to hate the game. Three years later, Final Form Games have announced Jamestown Plus.

This updated version of the game includes new ships, new levels, and a new chapter which brings the original’s story to a conclusion. So far, Jamestown Plus is heading to PS4 and not Vita or PS3. Both fans and new players will be able to experience the enhanced top-down shooter when it launches this Summer.

AXIOM VERGE TARGETS PS4 AND VITA RELEASE

Posted by Marcus Estrada on 30 Apr 2014

It’s funny how some of the coolest upcoming games look like they were pulled right of the NES/SNES era. Case in point, a sidescrolling action game by the name of Axiom Verge was announced for PS4 and Vita launch today. Via the PlayStation Blog, developer Thomas Happ Games shared some details.

Axiom Verge is a Metroidvania style game, which means there is tons of exploration to be had. However, there is also a “glitch” system in place to change up that classic formula. Purposeful glitches allow the player to access areas that they otherwise would never be able to enter.

The game has been in production for over four years and you can tell thanks to the gorgeous sprite art. Axiom Verge will be out in early 2015 for PS4, Vita, and PC.

Quantic Dream's new game sounds interesting. Not sure how big a studio they are but I imagine David Cage heads all the projects, so if we see it at E3 it probably won't be much given Beyond is less than a year old.

According to Wikipedia, they have about 180 people.

I guess we could see something good at E3 then.

SILENT HILL: ORIGINS AND SHATTERED MEMORIES NO LONGER COMING TO PS VITA

Posted by Steve Hannley on 30 Apr 2014

Silent Hill fans and PS Vita owners were excited a few weeks ago when Konami announcedthat Silent Hill: Origins and Shattered Memories would be released for PS Vita via PSN. As the games were supposed to release today and didn’t, however, it’s become clear that the PS Vita announcement was a mistake on Konami’s part. The original Konami blog announcement title has been changed from “Two Silent Hill titles head to PlayStation®Vita!” to “Two Silent Hill titles head to the PlayStation Network!” Additionally, even though Konami UK tweeted out “#SilentHill Origins & Shattered Memories are coming to PS Vita!” they followed-up today stating “Regretfully the games aren’t available on PlayStation Vita we’re afraid. If this changes however, we will let you know!”

The final nail in the coffin was PlayStation Blog’s Jawad Ashraf confirming that the releases were PSP only a few hours ago:

We’re not sure how exactly this incorrect information was allowed to erroneously exist for so long and whether it’s an error resulting from a mistake from Sony or Konami, but what’s done is done. Hopefully nobody bought the game thinking they could play it on PS Vita, or else there may still be some fallout to come.

MEET THE BELL KILLER IN MURDERED: SOUL SUSPECT

Posted by Adam Beck on 30 Apr 2014

The upcoming adventure title from Airtight Games, developers of Quantum Conundrum and Dark Void, is shaping up for its early June release, but we’ve seen very little outside of the initial gameplay demonstration at E3 last year. The latest trailer for Murdered: Soul Supect shows the viscous Bell Killer, someone who seems to hang pretty young girls and leaves a bell painted on their forearm.

Ronan O’Connor has a tough road ahead of him as he must find his own killer and put him to justice from the otherside. Murdered: Soul Suspect will be available on June 3 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
