He was saying this about FFVII on Gaf long time ago actually, without fruition yet and after that came this comment from the Square exec which sounded like "never going to happen". And now Verendus reaffirmed the info, we'll see how it goes. He banks his name on it.

The funniest thing is that Xbone nation has this news in their thread title and I'm pretty sure if FFVII happens, it will have nothing to do with the Xbone.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

I think there is something in this vein, yes. Don't know whether it would bound a remake. But check that FFs 1-6 have been on shit ton of platforms, the Playstation FFs have been only on PlayStation platforms and PC. Sure it might be the ease of porting, but I don't think so honestly.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
