i know what they said in gamescom. im still willing to say that its actually releasing between may and july.

no words on multiplayer yet, they havent said anything other than they are not comminting on whether there is multiplayer or not yet. however, considering this is a 3rd person shooter with cover mechanices, a game that has been developed for 3 years now and the fact that multiplayer is considered a neccessaty now days, i would predict that there is. i really hope so anyways.

Is that based on anything other than wishful thinking?

As for multiplayer, I could see that happening. Although with all of their emphasis on the game being about a filmic experience I'm not entirely convinced.

based on nothing but my personal analysis of the sitation.

RaD's last game was GoW: ghost of sparta on the PSP that released in late 2010. they since been making the order 1886. so in my time frame they would have had over 3.5 years developing the game. Sony also has been having the habbit of announcing games closer to launch than before. another thing is exclusives games on the PS4. we know 20 games are being released by sony in the first year. (from launch this year up to next holiday season) so we have a lot of unannounced games for next year, which logically will be their holiday games and near holiday games. so that would leave us with the infamous coming out in Q1 as well as drive club, and a summer that has nothing in it so far. expect for indie games maybe (just talking about exclusives). so it seems logical to have the order put in the time frame between may and july. of course, unless Shadow of the beast turns out to be a big game, not an indie game, i cant see them announcing anything for that time frame other than TLoU PS4 edition, which i presume, wont be enough to prevent a summer drought, and we all seen what that did to the WiiU.

Well, I hope you're right. If this game turns out the way I hope, it'll be enough to push me to get a PS4.

I think the biggest thing for me is the fact that they still haven't shown any gameplay. If the game was only 6 or 7 months away from release, you'd think we'd at least have something. Maybe they're just saving it for an event. I guess we'll see.

BTW, A little off topic, but do you know how the 20 first party games thing is possible? They barely have that many studios total AFAIK.

well im assuming they are saving it for an event, and im betting they will show gameplay on the 14th.

and yes i know how its possible. its 20 games published by world wide sutdios, not created internally by them. So games like Shadow of beast, rime, everybody is gone to the rapture, hell divers are all considered from that 20. just like The Order 1886. Ready at Dawn arent a Sony owned studio, but Sony are publishing the game. Dont count on those 20 all being AAA games or you will hugely be Dissapointed.

also, the number of studios doesnt mean the maximum number of games they can release. Studio Japan released Gravity Rush, pupeteer, soul sacrifice last year and this year, and they will release knack this year as well, and have Freedom fighters for the vita early next year too. 5 games from one studio in the space of 2 years, they have more than one team and thats how they do it.

Sony is pushing for their devs to do the same. ND have two teams. Guerrilla Games have a new IP in works while also making killzone SF. Media Molecule have two teams now as well (tear away and their PS4 game). Quantic Dream have been working on a PS4 game from mid 2012 and Sony Santa Monica have a PS4 game in the works while also releasing a game this year (their PS4 game is by the GoW3 director).

I'm going on what Jim Ryan said: "I’m sure you heard from [SCE Worldwide Studios boss] Shu [Yoshida] that he has—just his studios—he has 30 games in development. 20 of them are going to ship within the first year of the console’s life, and of those, 12 are new IP." That's what Jim Ryan said, so either he misunderstood or that list is purely first party. That's why I'm confused.

And obviously I'm aware that numerous SCE studios have multiple teams. That's why I acknowledged sony has over 20 studios (though I should have said teams). If I wasn't counting the multiple teams than they would have less than 20.

Also, just for the sake of nitpicking, it's Freedom Wars, not Fighters. And you forgot about Rain :p

i knew i forgot about a game!!

its still under the World Wide Studios umbrella, they are spending money publishing and funding these games, and in most cases they own the IP's so they are certainly going to consider them "their games". event if they dont own the team. its the same as how ratchet and clank are sony games, they dont own insomniac but they are under the World wide studios umbrella.

But that's the point. He said Shu's studios, not games. So either he misunderstood/mispoke, or next year will be the most ridiculous influx of first party titles the world has ever seen. I think I'm gonna lean toward option A on this one.

Lol, Joe, I checked out those threads and I can not give you trophies for them. Most of them are old and the newest one is like 10 days old! If I gave trophies for threads retroactively, everyone here (including me) would be a trophy billionaire by now!

its not Joes fault you have been slacking these past few weeks. your support for the trophy system has been worse than sonys first party support for the vita.

Hey, I counted everything that had been posted in this thread. Joe had not posted his threads, Joe loses!

I posted them today. There's a time limit now?

So apparently the Western market saved Legend of Dragoon from being a financial failure. Bring on the sequel Shuhei!
